  1. Ace I don't mind critical. Critical makes me a better modeler. We are all critical of everones work but choose not to voice our opinions for fear of pissing someone off. I don't get better if no one points out where I've gone wrong. I want feedback on my work. Comments, criticism and new ideas are welcome. You cannot offend me by doing so. Thanks for the help, Ace.
  2. I quite agree. Ill most likely drill them out.
  3. Yeah. Id be dead shocked to hear of one coming. AMT did a majority of the modern mopar kits and they aren't too lively anymore.
  4. Very nice. Looking forward to this.
  5. I never thought about it. I don't think the foil would do well in the feed rollers of a printer.
  6. I know Nick posted this already, but folks might not known what it was. Folks, if you are in any way interesting in running with us next year. Please vote on this poll thread. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67422&hl=
  7. Honestly I'd forgotten all about the prizes. I look forward to seeing your work again. I doubt very seriously two builders in the same location would give anyone concern. Nick is running it for 2013 and he's a pretty good sort.
  8. That's kind of odd as the blower hat came with the blower and carbs from the Revell '68 Corvette kit. The part is already painted but it might look cool with those drilled out. I appreciate the advice. I'm glad you like the idea. I've always wanted to do a "fat fendered" rod sans fenders.
  9. The 66/67 Chargers are my favorite muscle cars of all time, so I have really studied these two kits and have built them both. The MPC kit is good and everything fits well however the trim, badges and name plates are VERY shallow and easy to lose under paint. The Revell kit is nearly perfect in every way. There is some concern that the body line from the b-pillar back dips a bit, but it is very hard to detect. Both kits are '67s, however (correct me if I'm wrong) the only exterior difference between '66 and '67 is the front top-of-fender turn indicators present on the '67. Sand them off and you have a '66. The rest is all interior differences. If the resin pieces fit the Revell kit (or can be made to), I recommend using it. Please keep us posted on this project.
  10. I dig it Nick. We did the '81 run in 2011 because it was the 30th anniversary of the Cannonball Run film, so I know where your coming from.
  11. Here's some more Cheap Tricks.
  12. More work tonight. I rather like the color. It looks more military green in person. A nice semi-gloss too. Ignition wiring and alternator brackets. The body still needs some work and still need to finish the door panels. A 1/4 inch off the end of the header and we're back in business. More soon.
  13. I just think a '79 run is too close to the '81 run we did in 2011. Two years I isn't much different really.
  14. Okay, looks like both my threads are combined now. Excellent. Thanks much to the mods that made it happen. I fixed the headers and will be doing the ignition wiring tonight. More pics soon.
  15. I think this is a good idea as well.
  16. I really like whats being done. You might want to go back and re-scribe the door seams (re-blacken with some acrylics) because it seems you've lost a good bit of detail in your rusting process.
  17. Walter thanks very much. I honestly didn't see that function.
  18. Wow. You do some fantastic work. Well done.
  19. Well.................seems I forgot to measure twice. Whatcha think of this blower hat? Better than the other? I'll either paint it body color or silver.
  20. Okay so..............to date................we have run five of these now correct? And they have been............ 1st - Unlimited 2nd- Unlimited 3rd - Route 66 theme 4th - 1981 and earlier 5th - 1962 and earlier So some possible ideas ............. Cannonball Euro (no American vehicles) Muscle Car mash (1964-74) Cannonball 2000 (2000 and newer) another go at unlimited ummm.............thats all I got.
  21. Very nice work on my all time favorite muscle car. Looking forward to more.
  22. I just need to find a better gasser engine in 1/24.
