  1. John she turned out fantastic. I know you gotta be happy with that. Well done.
  2. After seeing 8145 threads on "what would you like to see kitted" I can tell you that there really wasn't a huge outcry for a '50 Olds. What there was a LOT of outcry for was ANY 50's era non-Chevy GM product. Face it, there are a lot of options for scale Chevys from 1951-1959. But nothing from Buick, Olds and Pontiac from the same time frame. Revell simply did a little research and picked the '50 Olds. I applaud their excellent choice. I have put off getting the Hudson and 48 Ford at the prospect of getting a couple of these.
  3. I have used Krylon under Duplicolor without issue before.
  4. Quite right. The Hudson Hornet is legendary in racing circles. Racing enthusiasts make up a good portion of our numbers as hobbyists and they have been wanting this kit for a long time. A little piece of racing history on your mantlepiece. At the very least our cottage industry/aftermarket companies will have the ability to crank out body trans kits based upon factory specs, of whatever we want. How cool is that?
  5. Ten hours!? Even if I built a model out of box *shudder* I couldn't do it in ten hours. Not busting your chops, seriously curious. Regarding your statement - such as?
  6. Yeah, the Death Dealer Chevy van! Which of Franks works are you thinking about Virgil?
  7. Alright we got some stuff going. Niko photo's like that one are what got me building the Stude as a Panamericana racer, rather than just the street machine I had planned. Chuck, the Buick looks awesome. Aaron, we don't really care how often you post up photos, whatever trips your trigger. Like I mentioned, this is just to help renew your interest, and get over hurdles. Not to mention with all these great models coming out soon, we need to make room on the shelves.
  8. Yep, check your local hobby/craft shop. There are some pre-painted and easy to assemble kits but they are waning in popularity and I haven't seen any new ones in some time.
  9. Well I'm amazed at all the good stuff coming out over the next year. I mean between the Hudson, '48 Ford, Revell's other new kits, IMC bringing back some old favorites, and Round 2 knocking our socks off we're are smack dab in the middle of a great time to be a scale auto modeler. Not since the 70's have we seen so much interest from the model companies. AND, wonder of wonders, it seems aimed towards the older, more established builders. No donks, tuners or monster trucks (or at least not much) which are released mostly to bring in the kids. It seems that the companies have realized that the older established builders that are buying 2-100 copies of each kit are the demographic they should be aiming for and it and it's about time I say. Are we seeing a scale auto renaissance?
  10. I would be very interested in a kit of this car. With a few changes and the flathead from the sedan kit, I think this would make a decent traditional rod.
  11. <-------see avatar
  12. <---------------says no to the rear fender skirts. Other than that, loving this.
  13. Most modelers will run the positive to just the starter. If you have great reference pics you might try the alternator too. Also the 66/67 Chargers are my very favorite muscle car so I'll be paying attention to your build. This is an exceptional kit as far as accuracy and fitment. You should have no issues.
  14. Can I get some more info on the Mylar? And yes I may have posted this in the past, but I'd forgotten I'd done so.
  15. Whoa.....................too cool. Wayne you never do WIP threads so you always totally shock me when you have something new. Looks fantastic.
  16. Very cool.
  17. This is looking sweet! More!!
  18. Yeah, that's kinda what I figured.
  19. I've gotten some more info on this show. Fees General admission $6 12-under free. $3 for first model, $1 for each one after that. Catagories Youth. Factory Stock. Street Machines. Pro Street. Street rod. Rat Rod. Custom. Import. Street Truck. Low riders. Tuners. Commercial. Road Racing. ...NASCAR. Drag Racing. Nostalgia, both Racing and Drag Racing ('80-older),Motorcycles. Large scale (1/23-larger). Small scale (1/26- smaller). Diecast.
  20. Like the title says has anyone done some decently realistic seat belt and/or racing harness hardware without using PE. I'm kinda on a budget for the next few weeks, and I gotta get the Stude done.
  21. Yeah, man. I like this. Keep at it.
  22. Check your local hobby shop for a Evergreen or Plastruct rack and find an appropriate sized rectangular styrene stock.
