awesome. I can't wait to watch it progress. I love this idea!

thank you very much.

I got one coming in the mail, and it will be here in a couple days. But the suspense is killing me. Whats the difference between the original and the repro kit? Does the repro come with the original 57 chevy fin trim decals and clear lights?

Ever think of going custom hebmuller? Thats something youd never see in the real world. Slammed stance, porsche wheels, bright yellow and white 2 tone

Has anyone ever issued a 2 door 1st gen s10 blazer or gmc typhoon kit?

Incredible!

the ride height of your model compared to the real thing looks right to me. Personally I think its all an illusion due to the cars high front bumper and offset wheel well openings. Either way. Once more your model is amazing

I envy your skill level... That car is amazing. It looks so real.... Can I drive it around the block?

Wicked cool. I'll be stalking this one dan

Nice job mike. I really dig the ruby red color you used on the interior

In true "winging it" fashion I switched a couple things up and truthfully they'll probably change. For now I'm digging the look of the foose truck wheels on it with this delicious combo of colors. Root beer brown on the body, mocha frost on the frame and engine bay, and warm caramel for the interior. If I do stick with that trio I think an appropriate name for her will be "Sweet tooth"still got a lot of body work to tackle. The window frames all need some fine tuning, and once I either locate my missing scriber or go purchase another one I plan on reworking the door lines. I want them to be aboit 1/4" longer, and those hinges are definitely going to go

Looks good! But it is a stock rooflined representation of a mk2 golf. The rabbits 1st run ended in 1984

Has anyone done a build thread on either of these? I'm not looking to build either car anywhere close to stock. I'm looking for a unique rat rod project and am hoping to find a parts breakdown on these 2 kits

I'm still on the fence with the running boards. I still want to taper them down and possibly add 2 strips of trim like I did on the hood onto the front fenders behind the tires, and as far as color I'm thinking a lime green/jade green combo in high metal flake
-
A little negative feedback about the hood made me speed up my vision. You can see what I'm going for. It needs a lot of sanding because right now they're far too big. After paint I plan on chroming the strips. None of the body work is final. This is all in rough shape. Needs a couple days to fully cure before I get real into it

That white lightning is tricky paint. Be very careful if you decide to clearcoat it. Mist the clear on very lightly like 3 or 4 times and wet sand whatever orange peel there is before laying on a final wet coat. If you get the clearcoat too thick on the 1st coat it seems to make the white extremely wet again and you'll get this nightmare

I myself am finding it hard to believe your a 1st timer. That paint turned out killer. Your doing a fantastic job and building a super cool car. I'm more of a customizer but see absolutely no way that car would look right in anything but that body/wheel color combo. Two thumbs way up

Call me crazy but I love seeing pink muscle cars. Good job

Not a big truck guy myself but I can still appreciate the detail in this beauty parked down the road. Look deep into the paint and you'll see it

As a mock up of my idea to change the running boards I've taken a sharpie and darkened the area I am thinking of removing

After a night of thinking about it I dove into some more cutting. This time using a candle to heat an old xacto blade. Against my better judgement I just went right at it. I eyeballed everything and the cuts look horrible but in the end it will all smooth out. I passed over the edge where both window frames met the body with a lighter until it was just pliable enough to bend downward to mate with the roofafter a few tweaks here and there its all glued in and just needs to dry up for a day. The stock windows still fit in the frames nicely which was the main thing I was going for when I decided to chop the topThe last thing for the night was to glue in the smoothed running boards. I haven't decided if I am going to smooth them into the fenders like they are or cutting the length diagonally on both sides to taper them into the front fenders, leaving the rear fenders untouched by the running boards
