  1. Headers are part of the engine, carbs and aircleaner are not. Headers connect with the exhaust pipe which is printed as part of the engine compartment.
  2. Finished engine.
  3. Bilingham (see above) made the wheels. Thanks, Bill!
  4. All finished and I'm packing to attend the Philly NNL; everyone here is going, right?
  5. BMF and clear coat are on, dashboard is in, windows are next. Completion by Thursday night, in order to take it to the Philly NNL on Saturday at the Simeone Museum. Hope to see everyone there! I will be wearing a black shirt with an ACME logo and giving out flyers for our show, the Southern NNL on November 3. Drop by and say hi.
  6. It is a resin printer, I don't know thew make but can check. PM me for contact info on the printerguy.
  7. Ace, Yes!
  8. Not much surface prep - several coats of primer and light sanding. Much less than Shapeways' materials. I'm sold on resin printer quality.
  9. Glad ya like! My printerguy has a resin printer, the layers seems to melt together; giving a much smoother surface.
  10. After some problems with the hood and hinging it, I have applied the first coat of paint. Hope to see everyone at the Philly NNL on March 10 at the Simeone Museum.
  11. Digging a little deeper, I see the grille is $9.00. Probably worth it, considering how much better it is from the kit. . https://www.shapeways.com/product/K4AMVS3WM/alfa-158-grill?optionId=63435569 .
  12. I haven't seen this update kit for your Alfa yet, but I understand it's very good: https://www.shapeways.com/product/AURGTZLE8/alfa-romeo-158-update-kit?optionId=60111686&li=marketplace .
  13. The Lusso I modified from a 330 LMB, about 21 years ago. I painted it red but since then decided that looked a bit too common and so I am now repainting it in Gravity Colors MB Ice Blue. I have displayed it over the years but, oddly, it never drew much interest. I cast the body and sent it to an English builder that I swapped kits with , who when he quit building, sent it to Scalekraft. So it is the basis of his kit. Unfortunately, he went out of business about 11 years ago. The Lusso is my favorite Ferrari and in my top ten favorite cars.
  14. There has been two Cord L29 masters floating around for ..what?.. 15 or 20 years? Am I going to have to wait until either of you two retire?
  15. until
The Inaugural Philly NNL will be held March 10, from 9:00 to 2:00, at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum. 16. Lookin' good with the new wheels. Bill milled the knockoffs, too. Working on filing the door handles from aluminum today. 3d printed handles are too fragile. Maybe I need a centrifigal casting machine for small metal parts?
  17. ACME member Bill Cunningham offered to machine the wheels on his cnc milling machine, an offer I quickly jumped on. I designed the wheel in Sketchup and sent him the file. Picked the wheels up last weekend at our club meeting, no pics yet, but here is an image in computer.
  18. Savonuzzi deserves to be better known. He was very talented.
  19. A Chrysler? I missed that. The designer, Giovanni Savonuzzi, worked for Chrysler on the early 1960's Turbine Car.
  20. If I can output this at 1/24, I can output it at 1/1. You provide the 427 Cobra chassis. Sacrilege? It's never sacrilege if you're paid enough. See you at the Philly NNL?
  21. Anyone can PM me for the contact info of my 3d printer. He uses a resin printer which is fairly high resolution with a smooth surface which requires very little finish work. The drawback is that there are supports to the printed item that must be removed, sometimes leaving little "divots" on the surface.
  22. Richard, Glad ya like.
  23. Finally finished detailing the engine compartment.
  24. Superb work.
  25. I accidentally discovered a way to turn white metal to gold. Keep quite about it.
