Well, last year there was close to 1,000 models on display. As I recall, there was somewhere between 35 and 50 vendors selling just about anything you wanted from new kits, resin kits, photo-etched goodies to the usual assortment of kits that are worth more in their frequent flyer miles than they are in what some people were asking for them. This year should be just about the same. Here's the link to the website: NNL West Your big fire trucks would be very well received! The larger scale and bigger format models usually win the People's Choice Award. Hope to see you there!!

Michael, That's one of my favorite Monte Carlo body styles. The color selections and the stance really look good!
-
Tito, It's good to see that you're still at it!! Keep going!! You'll work it all out!! I can hear the crowd chanting you on "Go Tito, go...go Tito, go...go Tito, go..."
-
Very nice, clean build!! Are you going to add the idler arm to the steering linkage? (It's the one part that our friends at Revell left out of the kit...)
-
Jonathan, I thought that you'd like that one! Yes, I have the unreduced pic on my PC at work. I'll send it to you Monday when I go back to work. There's also one of a 2x supercharged GTO...one on top of the other!! Really wild. I'll send you that one, too. Later,

Harry, Your recent post about someone stealing your avatar got me motivated to changing mine. I was getting a bit tired of seeing the same one all of the time of my 57 Chevy pickup, yet wanted something that was "different". I originally used a dash shot that a friend of mine took of his Z06 with the speedometer reading about 155, but by the time it was reduced down to "avatar" size you really couldn't see the needle. Then I dug this one out of my stash of pics that I've found and that various friends have sent me. The full-sized picture looks unedited, but I can't imagine where anybody would find a supercharger-like pump that BIG that would bolt onto a SBC/BBC and work!! It looks like one of those caricature toys that were really popular a few years back. Hey, maybe I'll model that next!!

There you go...you're getting better... Personally, I don't "get" the DONK "thing" either, but that's probably just because I'm old. Kind of like seeing my grandparent's reaction to Rock & Roll. What I do get is that someone took the time to build a model the way that they think looks cool. That promotes the hobby and improves the builder's skills. And...that's something that's good for all of us, no matter how young, old, experienced or new to the hobby we are. So, thank you for improving your comments. Constructive criticism is always welcome here. So are the DONKS. Regards,

Now that's no way to greet a new member. If you don't like someones style but feel inclined to leave a comment, try to make it constructive. That's how we learn from each other, continue to improve our skills and promote the hobby. So, Wingnut509, WELCOME to the forum!! It looks like you put a lot of work into the suspension to get those HUGE wheels to fit under it. Feel free to post whatever you like to build. Most of the members here will find something constructive to say about your work. Regards,

Jason, That's another nice, clean build!! How about a few more pics!!
-
Jason, A build that nice deserves more than one picture. Very nice, clean build!!
-
Very nice, clean builds!! The wheels also make me think of the way you would receive it from the dealer if Porsche offered a "you provide your own wheels" option...just enough to get it to the tire and wheel store... Again, VERY NICE!!

Now there's a guy that really likes using his razor saw!!! I really like it so far! It'll be interesting to see how you resolve the back end. The rear portion of the profile kind of reminds me of some of the older Rolls Royce and Benley cars from the 30's. Keep up the cuttin', pastin' and postin' Regards,
-
Very nice, Lyle!! All of the features work well together!! I greatly appreciate that you got rid of that center mounted radiator support. The twin/thin bars look so much better!!

THANKS!! You've also got some pretty nice models in there!! -
Hey Eric, You might also look at the 6" chopped 32 Ford shell and grill that Model Car Garage offers: http://www.modelcargarage.com/store/pc/vie...p;idproduct=140 They also offer a 4" chopped grill: http://www.modelcargarage.com/store/pc/vie...p;idproduct=139 For $11 you get the chopped resin shell and a PE grill. I've used several of their different resin shells and PE grills. They make pretty nice stuff. Regards,

Tito, That is going to be one wild machine when you get finished with it!!! I'm glad that you liked the diorama. It's one of three that I have left of the ten that I built to seel at the NNL West last year. Hopefully It'll sell this year, I'm out of space!!

Thanks, Rollin!! I'll look for it at Home Depot!!
-
Rollin, Did you use the Testors fabric paint for the interior? The texture and the colors look GREAT!!
-
Eric, That thing is looking more dangerous every time I see it!! I can't wait to see the suicide shifter installed!! You know what else would be cool is a cowl mounted steering box coming out the side!! I made this one from aluminum tubing and plate. It would add one more element of DANGER to your rat! Keep up the good work and the posts!

Hey!!! Gimme Back My Avatar!
Raul_Perez replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Harry, Somehow your new avatar is not as appealing as the 59 Chevy fin! It actually reminds of someone I'd rather forget!! -
Welcome! Your paint work looks great! I really like the paint on the bike!!
-
Rollin, What are the wheels made from? They look great!!
-
Thanks, Dave!! Yes, I looked through my stack of magazines and found the article. Very nicely written! I'll need to get some of the carbon fiber decals.

I just picked up the Tamiya Ferrari FXX and the Tamiya PE set that goes with it. I "was" planning on painting it red, but after seeing some of the other Ferraris Under Glass, I may paint it a different color. I'm going to start on it as soon as I finish my '58 Impala and my '43 Willys gasser pickup.
