  1. Very nice build, Bernard!! The colors look GREAT together!! Now I'll have something to sit my '50 shoebox convertible next to!! Hey, Curt, do you have one of these finished? Later,
  2. Very nice weathering, as usual, Virgil!! I've got to get back to building weathered backyard dioramas. I've done well in the past selling them at the NNL, but I just didn't have time to build any this year... Thanks for sharing,
  3. You're way ahead of me...with everything going on with my Grandfather, I haven't had the time nor the inclination to even look at a model in the past month. The good news is that things are starting to settle down. I should have time this weekend to get back tot he bench and do a bit of work on my '50 Chevy pickup... Later,
  4. Very nice, clean work!! The BMF work is very well done, too!! Thanks for sharing,
  5. OK...you've got 11 days to finish it before you have to catch a plane south!! Later,
  6. Looking good, Neal!!
  7. Agreed!! The colors look FANTASTIC!! Don't stop now!! Later,
  8. That's too funny!! The paint you see in the pics is only a base coat I used to see if I liked the current state of the bodywork and the hood design. No, I'm not going to section it, especially after you sent me a Photoshop image of it sectioned. It just looked completely out of balance. Yes, I do plan on making a cover for the bed to help with some of the height...It will probably also have a small wing/spoiler, (like the one on my '55 Chevy pickup), to help balance the overall height proportions of the design. No, there's no way that this one will be done in time for this year's show. Later,
  9. This picture really shows how much material was removed in the chopping and sectioning!! I'm giving serious consideration to sectioning the '50 Chevy pickup I'm working on. The belt line on the cab still looks too tall with respect to the bed height... Later,
  10. Yes, I clear over the decals...and I'll usually wet sand and spray it at least twice to get rid of the edge from the decals. I use Testors clear in the spray can for all of my paint jobs. It dries fast and is easy to wet sand with 2000 grit paper. Later,
  11. That car in those colors was always one of my favorites!! Thanks for sharing,
  12. I'm sorry to hear about Shirley's injury. I hope that she's feeling better... I like the simple taillights!! The absence of the running boards really give this car a different look!! Will this one be done for the NNL? Later,
  13. GREAT work, Lyle!! I especially like that you got rid of that horrendous center radiator support rod. It looks like the headers were a pretty close fit, but it also looks like you didn't have to modify the steering box to get it all to fit. Later,
  14. Very nice weathering!! I really like the 2x6 front bumper!! Later,
  15. Another GREAT build, my old friend!! I guess that I should try to finish something before the show...I've got a '56 Chevy that's been about 90% finished for the past two years... Later,
  16. Beautifully built model!! Why did the guy sell it? The PhotoShop work looks GREAT, too!! Later,
  17. Looking at how you got the top of the bed aligned with the beltline makes me wish that I had sectioned mine, too. Oh well...I'll have to save that trick for the next one that I build!! To align mine better, I'll be adding a solid cover to the top of the bed and putting a small spoiler on the back edge to give it a little more height. Yours is really looking good!! I really like the proportions...long and low!! The only change I might suggest for yours would be to slant tailgate area forward just a little. When I slanted mine, I used the stock lower seat cushion from the pickup to make the new tailgate. I'll make taillights from red translucent sheet stock. Keep up the GREAT work!! I really like how this one is coming along!! Later,
  18. I like the shoe polish number on the door...nice touch!! Later,
  19. I really like this style of custom car!! The trailer and bike add to the theme!! Thanks for sharing,
  20. That's coming along very nicely!! Some of the design cues are the same as what I've done to my '50 Chevy pickup, but I didn't section mine... I'll be really interested in seeing yours through to completion!! On that note...I need to get back to work on mine!! Later,
  21. Yeah...I'll have to agree with Martin on this one... It'll sure be interseting to see how this one turns out... Later,
  22. It looks like you're off to a GREAT start!! Later,
  23. It looks like you're off to a GREAT start, Marcos!! Caddy's from that era had their own, really nice colors that were not available on other GM cars. The color you picked should really make it stand out. Later,
