  1. Thanks, Jim. For the early 50s, this thing looked like it was from outer space!! Thanks, Clay! Now I've got to spend a couple of hours with my trusty X-Acto and a sheet of BMF. Later,
  2. Here's a picture of the engine in the car. This one needs a serious color sanding before it gets a final coat of paint and some clear...
  3. Here's a few pics with different lighting... Being a dark gray metallic, I found this one a bit difficult to photograph with the lighting I have. I may try to see if I can get some better pics outside tomorrow. Later,
  4. Yeah...it fits really well, but you can't see much of it once it's in the car...
  5. Last weekend I painted the body, so I spent a few hours tonight getting it color sanded and polished. Time to break out the BMF and get this thing foiled!! There's a lot of really small window trim to take care of. Tomorrow I'll find some flat red and get the interior sprayed. If all goes well, this one will be done in about a week or so... Later,
  6. While waiting for the paint on the Alfa Romeo BAT5 to dry, I had a bit of time to build an engine for the 2239 Chevy. Here are a few pics: Well...back to the bench for a bit more building...
  7. Nice paint work on a really cool car!! Thanks for sharing,
  8. Nice looking build!! Thanks for sharing,
  9. WOW!!! That's a lot of orange!! I'm glad to see that you're back at it!! Later,
  10. Those wheels look GREAT on there!! You can always count on a truck to take on some serious wheels!! Later,
  11. OK. We can peek in the boxes when you come up to visit with Al. Later,
  12. Looking good, Bernard!! You know, you may not have it as bad as you think with your inability to use CA. It cost me $14 today for a 2oz bottle of ZAP-A-GAP CA+ And I thought that gas was getting expensive...
  13. Thanks, Christian!! I recall the brand. I remember their 1:8th scale RSR Turbo Carrera Porsche, the 1:8th scale Lotus 72D JPS F1 car and the 1:8th scale Marlboro McLaren M23. I built both the Lotus and the McLaren, but I never had the Porsche. They were HUGE kits!! I don't ever recall seeing their 1:20 Jaguar. Anyway, keep up the GREAT work, John!! This is sure to be another amazing build!!
  14. Well, my old friend...I guess it kind of depends on what you're planning on putting it in... But for me, the real question is "what are you doing already planning a build for the 2012 NNL when I'm still finishing the ones I had planned for 2007?" Depending on what you're looking for...I may have a donor kit for you to play with... Give me a call when you get time and we'll see what's stashed away it the garage...
  15. As I recall, in the 70s & 80s Entex only repackaged previously released kits; much like Model King did a few years ago. I don't think that they ever tooled any model cars themselves. Much of what Entex release from the 70s through the 80s was originally produced by Bandai. A lot of the 1/16th scale classics that are now available through MiniCraft were originally produced by Bandai and Otaki. What I'm not sure of is who produced the 1:20th XKE that John is building. If it was a Bandai kit, it has/had their name on parts trees, typically on the backside of the part tree behind the letter designator on the tree.
  16. This one just keeps getting better with every update!! Thanks for sharing,
  17. I don't remember ever seeing that kit. Was it made by Bandai?
  18. Very nice work, Brian!!
  19. I like the color!! Actually, I like the color enough that I may have filled the top Later,
  20. Very cool stuff, Lyle!! An old friend of mine had a Model A Sport Coupe. If I remember correctly, it was burgundy and black with chrome wire wheels and a small block Chevy. Later,
  21. Very cool, Bill...Very cool indead!! Later,
  22. Thanks, Paul!! Here's where ther other custom nose went: What part of CA are you in? I'm in Tracy. Later,
  23. Paul, I did something similar several years ago, but I used the other custom '50 Ford nose clip for mine. Here's a pic of it: I did a lot of work to the body on mine, but I was never really satisfied with the look. It'll be interesting to see what you're able to come up with. Thanks for sharing,
  24. Wow, Bernard...that's one serious chop!! That's definately a 3 ZIP code car. Two for the brakes and one for the mail-slot sized rear window!! This should be one really cool build with the Nailhead engine!! Paint? Who needs paint when you have red oxide or black primer? A couple of "Ace of Spades" decals for the doors and it'll be ready for a hot night out on the boulevard!! Later,
