  1. Got the dash finished, mixed up a little clear resin for the speedo clock glass, and a little detail work done on the underside of the engine,
  2. You probably have, it's pretty much the same car the rest of the world get, but it's called the Octavia
  3. Superb build, that paint is super smooth, looking forward to seeing it put together ...
  4. Amt or Mpc kits are not so easy to find this side of the pond ....
  5. Just had an email telling me my Bantam Jeep is on it's way to me ...
  6. Looking good, I built this model back in '93, I bought it from the Ertl outlet in Dyersville, sadly along with some other models, it got damaged in a house move, still trying to get my hands on another .....
  7. Williams FW 07 and the Brabham BT49 have to be top of my list,
  8. Forgot I'd put in a bid for this on eBay, not that I need any more Beetles, that makes 3 of these in the stash now, on the plus side, I only paid £11.00 inc' shipping for it ....
  9. Welcome aboard, I've driven through Cedar Rapids a few times on my way to Dyersville, to the Ertl factory, back in '94 I wrote an article about Ertl in the Truck Model World magazine, the factory was still working back then .....

  14. PM sent, not a real hard one this week ....
  15. It came a few days ago and it is indeed made in Mexico, the chrome looks more satin that shiney, so it might get the Alclad treatment
  16. Had a £5 voucher from one of the model companies I deal with, that and they had the cabriolet on sale made it a no brained, I already have one in the stash, but another one isn't going to hurt ...
  17. Nice, I can see a lot of time & effort went into that build ....
  18. Got a lot done on the interior this afternoon ...
  19. That's one clean build, the foil looks superb, can't believe it's just household foil ...
  20. Got a bit done to this one during the week .... Side panels were a masking nightmare, primered in acrylic grey primer, body colour was airbrushed on without masking anything, then that was masked up so the white could be airbrushed, this was the same Tamiya white with a few drop of grey added to knock off the whiteness, then the whole lot was masked off again so the black door cards could be airbrushed, then it was masked up once again so the dark grey could be done at the front. I really wasn't happy with the colour I had airbrushed the floorpan, it really needed to be a lot darked, so I mixed some flat black in some Tamiya Tank grey, this time I'm much happier with the results.
