  1. Well I did a build a few years ago, and I ended up stripping the interior parts, and the artists acrylic was the hardest to remove, and it needs no clear on top, you won't see this paint once the flocking has gone on, but for interior seats and vinyl parts, it looks great, just the right amount of sheen, and there's plenty of colours to choose from
  2. A couple of acrylic showcases, one for the Stutz I built last year, and a smaller one for the Fujimi Porsche that is 99.9% finished ....
  3. My MPC Stutz Bearcat arrived today, boy I wish Airfix had bothered to but a decal sheet in their version, would have saved a lot of time masking off to airbrush the coachlines on the wings ...
  4. Got the parts airbrushed yesterday, The interior was painted using acrylic artist paint, thinned to use through the airbrush
  5. My Photobucket has been playing up all day, I keep getting messages saying they are doing maintainance on the site, should be o.k in a day or so
  6. Another one ...... I think I'll do a little more detail work when I build this one ....
  7. Not a great deal done today, as I had to do a bit of grocery shopping, then a visit to see Mom, but a little bit of masking, so I can crack out the airbrush tomorrow. As I had built the front end up, and not follow the instructions, it needed masking as the base would be the subframe on the real thing, and these were black, or that's the colour they started off at, a few months, and they were usually covered in engine oil .... Also got the interior panels masked up ready for the light grey
  8. Tell me about it !! that's the New Years resolution gone out of the window .....
  9. Bought this off eBay, I thought it would be neat to have a model magazine from January 1963, the month & year I was born ...
  10. That colour, Fiesta Yellow was one of the the least popular colours on the Cooper's but I kind of like it, here what it should look like when it's finished I don't thin it will too long before Revell offer the 'S' version, as if you look on the inside of the body, there are two mold marks where the fuel tank fillers should be on a later 'S' version, also under the rear parcel shelf there are four holes molded in, not sure what these are for, are Revell going to be doing a Race/Rally version ??
  11. Very nice build, and very realistic ....
  12. Did a little more to it today, the body, roof and bonnet got wet sanded, and then machine polished, followed by a hand polish, then a wipe over with Novus # 1
  13. Since building the Airfix Stutz Bearcat, I've really wanted to get my hands on the original MPC version, today I managed to win one off eBay ... and it didn't cost the earth.
  14. A little more progress on the Mini, the wheels were stripped of there chrome, as I think the chrome looks a little thick and of course the originals were made of polished stainless steel, so they were soaked in household bleach for around 20 min's, and then rinsed under cold running water, they were then primed, and then given a couple of coats of gloss black lacqer ready for the Alclad. Most of the smaller parts have been airbrushed, and the interior panel have had there body colour parts painted, they will be masked up so the grey vinyl panels can be airbrushed, this is a little different to the way Tamiya do it on there Mini Cooper, but I think by the time it is all finished, it will look just fine, The roof panel was airbrushed in Old English White lacquer, it will wet sanded and polished out before painting the gutter rail in body colour Now that body has had a bit of time to dry off, I thought before I do any polishing and then the BMF for the chrome trim, it was a good idea to see just how well the body and the chassis fitted together, as after building quite a few of the Tamiya versions, which can be a little tricky in getting the two together without a lot of bending etc, well I can report that the Revell version just falls together, there are two locating tabs at the front, but everything lines up absoloutely perfect ...
  15. 1/ Morris Minor 1000 2/ '71-77 Austin Victoria 3/ Wolseley Hornet/Riley Elf
  16. It is a light for night driving without the headlamps illuminated, the vehicle in front would have a reflector, or in most cases the rear asxle on the trucks was painted white, the vehicles could travel close together and as long as the driver kept the reflector in sight they didn't need to use headlamps .... on the back of the Mercedes staff car you will see a rectangular reflector,

    Very nice build ....
  18. When I saw the photo's from the German toy fair, i wrote to Tamiya and Ebbro, and was told the following ... "It is a colaboration between Tamiya and Ebbro with the modified parts being designed by Kia San at Ebbro"
  19. Simply beautiful ....
  20. I couldn't even say WOW, as I'm still speachless !!!
  21. Absolutely brilliant work, you certainly have some skills in bending and forming styrene ....
  22. I'll be adding the Opel to the stash, thanks for sharing the photo's, however I've found they are actually doing two kits of the Opel
  23. Are you talking about the Master Box German staff car ?? if so, I did the build and reveiw for a military magazine on that one, and yes it was a full detail kit, and very nice too, if a little on the small side, as I'm used to 1:24th scale ....
  24. Got the body parts in primer this morning, a bit of block sanding this afternoon, and then I managed to get them in body colour, it will be left for a few days before getting wet sanded and polished up
