  1. Very nice build, nice and clean and that colour looks pretty close to the stock colour, and I agree, it's a nice kit to build ....
  2. Not yet, I haven't got enough of them at the moment, but I did manage to get this one today though ....
  3. If your going to do a Mini, get the Revell version, you'll enjoy building that one ....
  4. Very nice build, and superb work on the BMF ....
  5. Managed to get this one finished today, it's the Later release from Revell AG, it was painted in the original BMC shade of Fiesta Yellow, with the powder blue interior .... the chrome on the wheels were stripped and redone using Alclad lacquer.
  6. The stuff I use is made by Devcon, it's available in different size tubes, but it's the 5 minute clear, I use for all my clear parts,
  7. Yes, you'll need some cellulose thinners to thin down the automotive paints, I use the top quality bodyshop stuff, which has anti bloom qualities, but you should be able to pick something simular at Halfords, the way I use it I buy it in 5ltr drums
  8. Looking at the photo of the Paasche website, that's pretty much the same compressor I've been using for the last couple of years, and have no trouble with it at all, the moisture trap does the job it should, nice a quite little compressor, so yes, it's a good choice .....
  9. For a better finish and better control I would always advise using an airbrush, even the basic Badger airbrush will give you a better finish that an aerosol, and of the course, the more you use it, the more expericence you'll get with it. I never mix out the paint to thinner ratio, I suppose I have been doing it for so long, I just know who much thinners to pour in, but start with a 50:50 and see where you go with that, you well have to go as far as 70:30 (30 parts paint to 70 parts thinner). If you really get stuck with the painting, you could always send the body and the paint to me, and I'll do it for you, and send it back when it's finished.
  10. There's a few online stores that I deal with, that will mix the paint you need, the colour code is BLVC73, the colour is called Citron yellow. Try here :- http://www.auto-paint.co.uk/carpaint/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=199
  11. Looks nice, but I would also like to see more, slightly larger photo's .....
  12. Managed to spend a little time in the hobby room this morning, not a lot now to get this one finished, just the wiper arms and a couple of decals .... Got the headlamps fitted, they just dropped into the bowls, a few spots of 5 minute clear epoxy and got the side windows fitted, again they just dropped into the frames, a few spot of 5 minute clear epoxy in the corners and they were popped into place
  13. I'be been doing a bit of Porsche hunting over the last week, managed to bag these nice specimens for the stash ... the older Porsche Boxster arrived, but was missing the chrome parts, so I got a part refund, hopefully I can get a replacement parts sprue from Tamiya, as it's the same parts as the laster 'Limited Edition' version
  14. They were assembled in Germany, but the bodyshell was produced in France, The 1.1 was an OHV, but the 1.9 was an OHC engine
  15. That's some very impressive models you've built there .....
  16. Thanks, I try hard to make them look a little realistic, got a little more done today, I'll do the other side later on, they were done using chrome BMF
  17. Very nice work, and nice job on the weathering, not over the top, just right for a used car ....
  18. Very nice rebuild, I've a couple of these in the stash, I really need to build one soon .....
  19. I got quite a bit done today, got another day to myself tommorow, so should have this finished very soon .... got most of the smaller chrome parts fitted, the bonnet badge was a simple job, as was the rear boot handle, the door handles were a little tricky, the chrome needed scraping off the mounting tab, but once cleaned off they fitted just fine, also did the chrome trim around the front indicators and fixed them into place. The front & rear screen needed masking off as the rubber seal is molded as part of the windows, they were masked off using Tamiya 18mm tape, and airbrushed using Tamiya semi gloss back, they were fitted into place as soon as the paint had dried, using 5 minute clear epoxy Before I finished for the night, I took the time to remove all the side windows from the parts tree, as they need the molded in frames covered in chrome BMF, but doing a dry fit revealed that the instructions are slightly wrong, as they should part # 101 being fitted to the left hand rear side, it doesn't fit as you need to use part # 99, and use part # 101 on the left hand side
  20. I've seen the real thing close up, and yours is a fine replica, very nice build .....
  21. Very nice build, that engine looks so realistic, I can almost hear it running .....
  22. Well I got a little more done today, one of my pet dislikes is model companies putting the chrome parts on the sprue where you are going to see the cut off mark once it's removed from the parts tree, Revell are guilty of this with there chrome parts, the front grille is fixed onto the sprue in 6 places, 3 of them are right on top of the grille, so a small piece of BMF was cut to size and burnished down, you can just about see if if you look hard, the only other way would be to strip the chrome and redo it using Alclad, but the quality of Revell's chrome in the kit is pretty good, there was the same problem with the front bumper, four cut off points, two right on top of the front overiders, again BMF came to the rescue, luckily the rear bumper is only affixed by two points, and both of them at the bottom of the bumper, I did cover the marks with BMF, but your not going to see them ..... Another thing I like about the Revell version is that the grille extensions are cast as part of the front grille, where was the Tamiya version they are molded into the bodyshell and are very fiddly to cover in BMF.
  23. Looking real good, very nice work, you must have a steady hand to do the interior like that ......
  24. Got the rear lights fitted today, plus the rear number plate light and front headlamps, apart from the number plate lamp which needed it mounting tab trimming down a little, everything else fitted fine.
