I'd have to say any of the Fujimi Enthusiast kits are the one's to go for, but if your looking for the later 996 version, the Tamiya version is a very nice kit, not full detail, but does have engine/gearbox detail, also have a look at some of the Revell AG 911's, as some of them were reboxed Fujimi kits, there are marked Revell Premium ...

Hobby Link Japan - good to deal with?
GeeBee replied to 58 Impala's topic in Links to Aftermarket Suppliers
I've been using them for years, I haven't had a local model shop for many years, the one the other side of town makes you feel as welcome as a fart in a astronaut suit, so I haven't been to there shop for ages, so for me it's the internet or nothing .... -
Color match for AMT Opel GT
GeeBee replied to WizPorsche944's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The colour code for Chartreuse is L406, it's available over here, as that's one of the shade's I was thinking of doing mine when I get round to it, have you any auto paint stores local to you that could mix up a small tin ?? -
Very nice work, I may have to look out for one of those, would go well with the Airfix version I built last year ....

Thanks Tony, just can't stand a cluttered work room, I like all my tools in a place where I know I can find them ...... Did a little more before before closing the door for the night, not a lot of BMF to do on it, side strips under the door and some chrome trim on the bumpers, but they still need to be done,

Welcome, many years since I've been to Iowa, lived in Ankeny for a short time in the late 90's, been to Ames a few times, there was a nice hobby shop there, although he didn't stock a lot of plastic kits at the time, I think I cleared the shelf with what they had ......

I can't believe I haven't been in the hooby room since May to do any work, decided to get the Porsche out and see what my next move would be, didn't spend a lot of time in there, but managed to get the front windscreen frame covered in BMF, as the frame was originally broken I wasn't looking forward to doing the BMF incase any pressure burnishing down the BMF would have broke the frame again, luckily it came through o.k .....

That's one real nice build ......

Well since I bought mine, I've used it for cellulose lacquer, automotive acrylics, humbol and testor enamel thinned out with lacquer thinners, and Tamiya acrylics, that I sometimes thin out with lacquer thinners, and have had no problems with it at all .....

I've been using the very same spray booth for a couple of years now, over here the filters are around £4.50, and I usually change mine once a year, inbetween I take out the filters and using a fine nozzle on the vaccuum cleaner, give them a good cleaning, I also line the inside of mine with greaseproof paper, which keeps the inside of the booth clean, and once the paper gets too much paint or overspray on it, it's quick and easy to change.

Question for the airbrush experts (equipment wise)
GeeBee replied to Ben's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The one you are looking at on eBay is the kit, which comes with the #1, #3 and #5 tips, thats the only one's available for the H, and depending on what your going to be using through it, I shoot lacquer based paints through mine, and I use the #5 set up, for acrylic's like Tamiya you should be fine to use the #3, get the paint thinned correctly and the air pressure set to around 15 - 20 p.s.i and you shouldn't have too much of a problem with excessive overspray. -
Question for the airbrush experts (equipment wise)
GeeBee replied to Ben's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Some modellers never really get the hang of the double action airbrushes, but you will get 1st class results with the Passche H, I have used one for many years shooting lacquer based paints through it using the #5 tip set up, I'm now using a VL-S and find the results slightly better, but you won't go far wrong using the Paasche H, I also use the F1 to do paint small parts, it's the H's smaller brother, I've had it for many years and it's a cracking little brush. -
Beautiful build Harry, I'd love one of these in 1/25th scale to go with my Stutz Bearcat ....

I really haven't had much chance to spend any time in the hobby room the last few weeks, but I've managed to get a little work done in there over the weekend, the flocking on the floor is now finished, and got all the smaller parts fitted into the interior, the side panels and dash panel will be going in this week, I have a few small parts that need airbrushing, hopefully I can make time in the week to crack on with this build ....
