Another delivery from Hiroboy, the Chromefarbe is the actual colour used on VW steel wheels until 2002.

I've actually sold some of the stash a few years ago, some i knew I'd never build, some i do regret selling, which is why I don't sell anything out of the stash anymore, please don't ask if any of them are for sale, there not !!

Finished off the dashboard tonight, just the steering column,steering wheel and parking brake to fit, I'm hoping to get some time in the hobby room tomorrow as I'm going to be a little busy over the weekend.

With the interior being finished, apart from the dashboard, I thought I'd do a dry fit with the bodyshell, very surprised that it fits like a glove, amt kits can be a little fiddly getting things lined up, so far this one is going together like a dream, just the dashboard clocks to fit and then the column and steering wheel can be fitted, then the dashboard can finally be installed.

Yes, I'm pretty surprised as well, I'll defiantly be getting one, when I was growing up in southern Spain during the 60's and 70's, a family friend had one, he lived up in the mountains in a log cabin, apart from a 4x4 this was the only thing that could make it up the road going up there, the trip was a little bumpy getting up there, but as a kid, a lot of fun, very fond memories....

Coming next year, VW Trekker, type 181, not a lot of details just yet, I'll try to find out more on this, could well be a transkit, not sure if the Tamiya or Revell VW Beetle will be used for the base vehicle.

Yes, I ordered them when their website was showing stock, I got an email yesterday saying they were now out of stock, I phoned them to clarify, they were expecting them on an shipment they had coming in on that day, but they didn't show up, I was told they could well be in stock next week.

The interior parts had been drying off for a couple of weeks, so today I got all the chrome trim done, all done using chrome BMF

Dashboard airbrushed, just the aluminium trim and dashboard clocks to do, the aluminium trim will be done using Bare metal foil, pedals picked out using Tamiya rubber black

Zero paints here in the UK have that colour in stock, I'm going to be putting an order there way at the end of the month, if you get stuck,let me know and I'll get you a bottle and ship it over, don't forget there basecoat paint and will need a couple of coats of clearcoat over them.
