Started to apply the aluminium trim on top of the wings and door, in real life it's actually an aluminium U channel that hides the screws and rivets that hold the panels on, I used aluminium BMF,

Most Corgi's were 1:36th scale

Superb build, I've got a couple of Hornets to build, hopefully they'll turn out just as nice as yours

The tack cloths that I ordered on Tuesday arrived this morning, so with the dust nibs wet sanded out it was time for round two, pleased to say this time I'm happy with the results, although I'm glad I ordered two bottles of pasta from MCW lacquer.

As I'm waiting for the paint on the Chevelle to harden so I can wet sand a few dust nibs out of it, I've made a little more progress on the Trabant, engine was airbrushed in Testors steel, other parts were airbrushed in various shades of grey, rear suspension was airbrushed in satin black with the fixing points picked out in Tamiya Titanium silver

Cheers Shay, it was good to have a free day so I could spend a little time in the hobby room.

Managed to get the first coat of paint applied, just a few dust nibs to sort out, then it can get a second coat

No, both the Series 2 and 2A had the lamps mounted horizontally, the wing that has the lamps vertically has come off a military Land Rover.
-
Not really, that set is for the 1:35th scale Land Rover

Looking at the seats for this one, and the fact that is hasn't got the dished (Deluxe) bonnet, means that this is a basic Land Rover and as such, the spare wheel would have been just put in the rear load bay at the factory, the mount for the spare, either on the bonnet or on the rear door would have been a dealer fit option if that's what the customer wanted.

Again, those items should be Limestone, pure white became available on the later Ninety and 110, not the Series 3 88 and 109 inch models, if you've seen photos to the contrary, they've been restored using the incorrect colours, I'm talking about Land Rovers built in Solihull, Land Rovers were built in different countries using CKD kits, and may well have been painted in different colours, I have no reference material for those, I do know that models built in Australia did use different colours, they used Tuscan blue, which was only available on the Range Rover in the UK. -

I no longer order from them, they seem to think a thin sheet of cardboard wrapped around the box and wrapped in black plastic is enough protection to send a model kit through the post.

Hopefully Ian @ The motor museum in miniature, http://www.themotormuseuminminiature.co.uk/our-products.php will have their planned Lotus Cortina Mk1 available next year, it will be a full kit in resin like their Morris Minor.

That's the High capacity pick up fitted to the 109" chassis, it offered 25% extra load capacity than the standard pick up model.

Land Rover ninety and 110, white was available, Limestone White was still available, but these models are totally different from the series 3, one piece windshield and front panel now level with the front wings are just two of the differences. -

As I said earlier, White (Leyland white) was only available for fleet vehicles, i.e police etc, Limestone (more cream than white) was the only white available for the general public, White was available on the Range Rover from the start of production but not the land rover series 3 -

So sorry for your loss Jim, I lost my Mom coming up 4 years now, it's never easy losing your loved one's, but time is a great healer, stay strong Jim.

Yes,the kit comes with L/H/D and R/H/D dashboards, I've been told it is planned for release in the 4th quarter of this year, so should be out pretty soon, of course back when the Series 3 was current,a lot of them were sold to Ex British Empire or Commonwealth countries, so would have been R/H/D, although they were popular in other European countries, which would have been L/H/D

Pageant blue was only available on the later V8 phase one models, and not the earlier 88 inch station wagon
