  1. it is,
  2. it did have, but i gave it to another modeller that needed it for a build, and as I'd done so much detailing on the interior, it would have been criminal to cover it up
  3. Managed to get some better photo's taken today
  4. I would give household bleach a try, always works for me
  5. Airbrushed in Porsche Smyrna green, when I got the model the windshield frame was broken, so it nearly never got built, interior was flocked and the dash detailed with bmf and decals, chrome on the bodywork is a mixture of bmf and Molotow liquid chrome pen
  6. Superb build .....
  7. don't try to use it like you are touching up a stone chip on a real car, instead you want to go over the item you want chromed, as wet as possible, it will self level, and leave to dry, at least overnight, remember, it's ink not paint.
  8. Nearly ready for the display cabinet, a lot of the parts once cut from their parts tree needed touching up, or re-chroming completely, the Molotow liquid chrome pen has really come in so handy on this build, for some reason, the headlamp reflectors weren't chromed at all, again, liquid chrome to the rescue, the over riders on the bumpers, both front & rear were redone using the liquid chrome pen
  9. I usually get my paint mixed here, https://www.paints4u.com I've just checked, and they list BMW paints going back to the 70's,
  10. I had to use one of these chrome pens on most of the chrome on the front end of the Porsche I'm building, mainly because where the parts were cut off the sprue, instead of just trying to touch them up, i went over the parts with the 2mm pen.
  11. Tried the Testors many years ago, which ii didn't think looked that realistic, been using Tamiya clear orange, red & yellow now for many years, wouldn't use anything else now
  12. Superb build ....
  13. Looking good, your lucky to still have a model shop local to you ....
  14. Yes, you can use it with out any problems, you will need to thin it, and possibly clear coat over it after it's dried.
  15. Since finishing the 48 Ford and the Beetle convertibles, I've managed to crack on with this one, really not a great deal to do now to gt this one finished Chrome bumper overriders touched up with Molotow liquid chrome pen after the parts had been cut off the sprue and sanded smooth
  16. Very nice work Nig Alan ......
  17. probably hibernated for the winter if he has any brains ....
  18. it is, I started using it on my Cruiser to remove any swirl marks, a good polish once a year with a DA polisher, then thought I'd try it on models after wet sanding
  19. I did a comparison on my website between the Tamiya Mini Cooper S and the Revell Mini Cooper, perhaps I need to do one on the Tamiya VW Beetle and the Revell Beetles, now that I've built them all
  20. Worked out at the rate I build, I have enough to last me 'till I'm 93 .....
  21. Painted in VW Marine blue, wet sanded and polished,
  22. it is, released by Revell ag last year
  23. the paint was wet sanded with 4000,6000,8000 and finished off with 12000, then I started the polishing with Poorboys SSR2, then used four other compounds until ii got the finish I was happy with
  24. Just the rear lights to finish off and fit, plus a few decals and this one will be in the "Under Glass" section, should get it finished tomorrow
  25. just picked one up for £15, I'll probably make a mold of the engine and ancilleries, and cast them in resin, that way i can still build the amt Mercury sedan kit
