  1. Got the email from HLJ to say my two kits are on there way to me .... Looked at the HLJ website and there showing low stock on these now
  2. A bit boring is a slight under statement, road test done on boring family saloon cars, and things like, "Oh this one is the deluxe version, it has an extra air vent in the dash, and a push button radio" it was enough to put any petrol head to sleep. Hopefully Clarkson, May & Hammond will take the show to another station , Hammond was brought up just round the corner from where I live,
  3. It's the 1300 c.c Ford "Kent" crossflow engine
  4. They didn't have a gel coat at the factory, the Duraplast was sprayed using fast drying acrylic enamels, I sent off to what would have been East Germany for my genuine Trabant paint for doing my Trabbi's
  5. Looking at photographs of the real thing, they do sit a little high on the front end
  6. I'll get this finished even if it kills me !! I've been de-cluttering the hobby room, and selling a few models on eBay, anyhoo, I've polished the front & rear windscreens, airbrushed the rubber seal using matt black VHT paint, as it gives a very nice matt finish, got the rear screen fixed into place using a small dabs of clear epoxy
  7. Welcome aboard .....
  8. Looking great, I'm sure he'll be over the moon with it .....
  9. Cheers for that comment Jim,it got me quite choked, I'll send out parts, decals and paint if I can to anyone that's in need, I don't ask for anything in return, just knowing that I have helped someone in need is good enough for me .....
  10. Looking good Bill, glad to hear the decals arrived safely ....
  11. Paint, wet sand, polish, BMF and then a coat of wax ....
  12. Beautiful work ....
  13. After hearing about these problems, I checked all my GTi kits, luckily all three are fine, with the correct parts
  14. True, but I learnt my Irish by watching video's ....
  15. Now if we could get you to speak perfect English Shay, that would be a miracle ....(lol)
  16. Superb clean work, I can tell this is going to be a cracking model.
  17. Strangely I didn't have any problems with the top fender and door trims, but did have problems with them on the Universal, the tip about lining up the bonnet before putting the headlamp rims is a good one, I figured that one out while putting the Universal together.
  18. Non at all, it's a great little kit to put together
  19. If I left you alone for that long in my hobby room you wouldn't be looking in any of my drawers, you'd be hightailing it back to Dublin with your hands full of quite a few kits from the stash ...
  20. I do Shay, and organised it isn't .....
  21. Another TV series I loved, they were repeated over here not that long ago, always did like the car he drove, can't believe there isn't a kit of this one, the conversion you're doing is 1st class, can't wait to see more progress on this one ....
  22. Both my desks are computer desks, my hobby room was, (after it was no longer needed as a bedroom) an office where I ran my online slot racing business from, the computer corner using became my building desk, my spray booth sits on another computer corner unit, the keyboard shelf was removed a toolbox sits where a computer tower should go, This photo was taken many years ago when the model stash was hardly existent and the fax machine was still plugged in, and my eyesight was a lot better, so I didn't need the magnifying lamp I need these days
  23. That's the 1906 Bianchi coupè de ville 15/20, Bianchi became Auto Bianchi in 1955
  24. Cheers Charlie, the weathers not so warm today, but Spring is only around the corner, I will get this finished and get the Universal in top coat before closing the hobby room until the autumn. I do like building models of quirky cars, infact I like the full size ones as well, yep there slow, and don't have a lot of luxuries like we get on modern cars, but they just have so much character, many years ago I was asked to go along to an international Trabant meeting as there official photographer, I wasn't going to take the job as it quite a way from where I live, but I did do the job, and I ended up having a great day, the people who own Trabants are certainty not stuck up their own rear end like some owners of other classic cars I've had the misfortune of having to photograph and interview the owners for magazines I've worked for.
  25. Back in primer Jim, it will get back on the bench as soon as this one is finished, I don't usually have two builds on the go at the same time. I will probably be taking a break from the modelling until later in the year, I will get the little champagne Rabbi finished, then I'll be shutting the hobby room until the Autumn, the good weather is just around the corner so I'll be out with the cameras adding more photos to my portfolio, you can see my photography website here http://geoffbrown63.wix.com/gmb-photography
