  1. I didn't think the Golf was that old, I always thought you had these when you were a kid
  2. That was my first car, series 3 Imp Super in polar white, cracking little car ...
  3. Looks like the brave tablets worked, looking great Shay ...
  4. As I seem to be doing more reviews and magazine articles I thought it was time I got something a bit better than a white sheet thrown over my chair in the hobby room, so got one of these,
  5. I used to work for Audi/V.W U.K(VAG) back in the 80's and 90's
  6. 1- Jensen Interceptor 2- Dodge 3700 GT 3- Vauxhall Cresta PC 3.3 Deluxe 4- Vauxhall Victor FD 2.0 Super Deluxe 5- Bedford CA Dormobile/Utilabrake 6- Ford Granada Mk1 3.0 GXL 7 - Hillman Imp Super 8- MK1 Mini Cooper 9- Austin Victoria 1300 GT 10- Jaguar XJ-S (Original V12 version)
  7. I've had another delivered since then, makes 3 in the stash now ....
  8. Welcome aboard, visited Germany many times, lovely people and country .....
  9. I'll be doing one of my GTi's in a colour that was introduced in 1979, just before the facelift, Inari Silver metallic, not a common colour, but I think it suits the Golf
  10. Boot interior finished ....it's the same colour as the interior, this photo shows the colour much better, the other photo's show the interior colour too dark.
  11. When I was a kid, or even many years ago before the internet, yes I would say the box art would have made a difference between me buying a kit or not, but not these days, there so many ways of finding just what's inside the box .....
  12. After being painted three times, the roof has finally come up o.k, still a little polishing to do, but I'm happy with it, hopefully the body will look as good when it's polished,
  13. If I was bragging I would have posted the rest of the stash ...
  14. Don't be greedy, you've already had one, these two are all mine, all mine I tell you ...
  15. Very nice build ....
  16. Been watching it through the chromecast, could have done with a few "Sub titles" though .....
  17. Oh I'm not after any more Trabbi's, I have 3 of the saloon's, 3 of the Universals and 2 of the 25 years of the fall of the Berlin wall Trabbi's ....8 in total !
  18. That's a cracking price, works out to around £14.00, not so long ago they were on back order over here ....
  19. Repainted the body yesterday, and got it wet sanded, all went well, ready for the polish now, unfortunately the primer started to show through the paint on the roof, so that was masked off and repainted this afternoon, still a few marks to sand out, but there's plenty of paint on there, so no worries of sanding or polishing through .... Found out that this paint loves to be bladdered on, it really doesn't like going through an airbrush, even with a # 5 tip on my Paasche H, in the end I used my old but very faithful Badger basic spraygun,
  20. If you couldn't afford a Trabant you had to make do with an MZ motorbike, if you were well off you could buy a Wartburg, all three had 2 stroke engines Parcel shelf flocked
  21. It's o.k Shay, I've been wearing my tin hat since yesterday .....
  22. If the real Trabants were built as slow as this, and with all the little details I like to put into a build, they would have figured out long before 1991 that they were uneconomical to build anymore .... There was a 10 year waiting list for a new Trabant as it was.
  23. The Trabbi certainly had carpet fitted, well the 601S did, S for Special equipment,
  24. Got the flocking on the interior finished, just the parcel shelf to do, also got it standing on all four's, and they all touch the ground at the same time, which is always a bonus ....
