  3. Good morning modelphiles This will be the 64 Dodge Hemi Charger build from a Lindberg 64 Dodge 330 kit First i must say the kit looks very well made with lots of detail, would love to build one box stock but so many models,so little time Heres the pics to show where im at with this First pis is the victim body before decapitation And after the surgery and a little clean up around the front window I kept the post for possible alignment use later in the build
  4. OK! You guys have me motivated to go so ill do a build thread on this I have found a site that has several high quality pics of this can i can use for reference. https://automotivetraveler.com/magazine/viewer.php?path=2010/12/1964_Dodge_Hemi_Charger_Concept&page=1 So,its off to source parts and break out the saws/putty .
  5. Looks like the stars aligned for this one Just received it in the mail, open the kit and the front windshield is broken into two pieces
  6. I have snaged the lindberg Dodge 330 kit for the slant six moter and was not sure what i was going to do with the kit I think i have my answer
  7. Bought the Revell 60s VW kit on the EB Seller shipped it in a bubble wrap mailer What appeared a 8.5 out of 10 box condition is now toast The kit survived intact but,really...............a bubble wrap mailer OK, rant over Model on
  8. Hey guys and gals This is a new as of now online hobby store that I know there seems like a million of them but,he is local to me and although he doesn't offer local pickup I made a purchase and he packed and shipped the same day and his prices are competitive. I talked to him on the phone and he has plans to open a brick and mortar place near me and other than HL and a Scale Reproductions in Louisville Ky, the model pckins round here is kinda slim So, here's a link to the store.Owners name is chris and I wish him the best success. https://upscalehobbies.com/
  9. That is one realistic build Awesome photography too Got any engine detail shots? Love he plumed ref unit
  10. I think my issue is not starting the trailer at the same time as the truck . Doing it that way would allow me to do mockups of them together and gauge how much to adjust the stance. Or,maybe im just overthinkin this thing. I gotta tell ya, this has been by far the most challenging model i have tried to build
  11. Outstanding job Thank you for being a first responder
  12. This may be old news to some but i just stumbled on the best putty filling idea that works flawlessly. I never could get the edges to feather up nice a clean before \ On the L-700 TAT build im doing, i was using the putty to fill in the area i put the cab hinge tube in and thought to myself,Self, that putty looks porus? So i thought why not cover the putty in water thin ca,cure over night and see how it works and sands I take Bondo spot glazing putty and apply it to the seam or what ever else needs filling. Let that cure over night. Cover the putty aera in ca,cure over night and wala! It sands and works almost like its styreen
  13. Im hoping the grill will hide the tube.It was a dust up getting the tubes square and parallel. I tried to leave some of the dive in it as i read in another thread that putting the truck in a level stance makes the trailer nose dive, till i do the trailer i wont know how it looks My memorie that made me like this kit is as a child growing up in southern Indiana, there was a flower shop right across the street the would work me in the greenhouse during summer break. Their delivery van was a dodge a-100 with the name of the shop painted in gold script I still remember riding in that noisie thing, like riding in a steel cracker box with a slant six at your side
  14. This is the effort to firm up the cab hinge on this Challenge series model Thats what this has turned into for a rookie like me! Some brass tubing from the HL and away i went The plan is to epoxie the brass tube to the hinge mounts
  15. 60 here, built models till about 13,then picked it back up on my 59 birthday at the urging of my wife,to her regret
  16. Clark county Indiana,I 65 south I have another side shot but i cant get it to load ITs a boat,no....its a car, their going fishing Anyone care to model that one?
  17. In a perfect world map would work Unfortunately, map is a corporate price game that on paper in the board room every ones a winner, the loser will be john small hobbies who can only keep 10 of the new release in stock,is forced to sell at map wile Mega linc hobbico can buy 100 or more of the new release and receive a "special price" for a volume buy, then post on their website at under map price and sit back and thumb their nose at Tamiya Tamiya not wanting to kill the goose that laid the golden egg will look the other way and give lip service to the complainer This is kinda personal for me as my guitar sales clerk job closed up after 50 + years due to among other reasons was the competition from the internet. Many times i would call the rep to report a price violation but soon realized i was wasting a phone call He who buys most rules the roost so to speak
  18. Tamiya products on Amazon Lets see them enforce that. Tamiya versus Amazon My moneys on Bezos
  19. Oh yes,The map price game My last real job was at a mom and pop music store as the guitar sales clerk My experiance with the map program went something like this. Sales rep from guitar brand F set your store up as an official dealer of brand F guitars and accessories. All brand Fs products are covered by a map program. Brand F is also sold at mega super size global conglomerate Music store X One day wile looking at MSX website i see brand F guitars advertised at below map Knowing full well after being reassured by sales rep from brand F that any map violation will be dealt with quickly,I call said rep and report price infraction. Once again i am assured that this will be corrected as everyone has to play by the rules. Meanwhile, two days later i look at the MSX site and low and behold,Guitar F still there at below map Sometimes the stuff was below what my store had to pay as a official dealer I have a feeling Tamiya is gonna cozy up to all the mega outlets and let the mom and pop store take yet another blow till there are none left
  20. Thanks Charles Those L-700 are sweet! I have been kicking the tubing idea around so its good to hear that is a work around. This is a challenging but fun kit
  21. I now have the wheels/tires and frame together. I adjusted the rear height some but left some on the nose dive in it. Hopefully the cab will mount nice and square one the chassis
  22. There should be warning about this kit Im now working on the frame /suspension and it looks like its gonna be doing a nose dive.Either the back is too high or the front too low.To the Google pics to see if the 1 to 1s sat like that. So far i've had to fix/repair or rebuild some part of each step with exception of the wheels and tires. Gonna be a minuet wile i figure out how level this thing out Still love a challenge though OK,after a google search i found what appears to be factory shots of the truck and indeed it leans forward, but not much I still think im gonna adjust the ride stance
  23. I now think the part i lost,# 23 in the engine assembly, is the distributor? In any case im gonna find one to put there
  24. Here's the motor minus the exhaust manifolds. No distributor and in another thread about the scale of things, whats up with the belts and pulleys, they look way to big to me. I have lost the part that goes behind the pump at the top pulley so ill scratch one out after i find a distributor.
