  1. Thanks Guys I stressed over the color combo on this one It took me three colors to arrive at this version. The fenders and running boards stayed the redish brown and the hood, cab and bed was the trouble for me Now to concentrate on my TAT 2018 build, the Dodge L-700 Tanker in Texaco colors
  2. This is my effort on the Slammer Revell kit. Basic OOB with plug wires /hoses and wheels from a Yenko corvette kit and tires from Amt parts pack For # 3 i dont think i improved much since the 51 Chevy, not happy with my painting skills yet Critiques and tips always appreciated
  3. Not a whole lot to be found on he SS website about returns There is this: PayPal and credit cards are accepted here in the shack. 100% customer satisfaction is the goal here in the shack. We want you to enjoy your purchase and come back to the shack for your all hobby needs. If you give them a shout about it keeps us posted I just bought two more that are scheduled for Monday
  4. There's two different Manx kits listed One is the exclusive purple one and the other is the retro delux Perhaps this would be a chance to see how the customer service is
  5. Awesome Caddie Love the detail work
  6. Thanks for comps guys Sorry aboutThe bad cell phone pics. They act as a filter for all the boo boo's
  7. This is from a new guy perspective but when i "discovered modeling" again, i did not give scale a second thought as i am into figures and sci-fi. That however dident last long as i began to notice things to be out of scale Now that I've branched into vehicles i notice details that are out of scale and wonder why was this not fixed befor producing the retail kit.
  8. Here's My second auto model, My first time with chrome foil and plug wires and hoses Next up is the Revell 41 Chevy Truck
  9. Not boring to me I love to know the back story to the builds posted here It gives me a perspective to understand how the model evolve's to something that brings back memories The Car is looking awesome too!
  10. Model Hut hits again,AMT 41 Woodie and the Trumpter 63 Nova convertible Somebody stop me
  11. Well, the Meyers Manx arrived today,a little worse for wear but the model box and kit survived. After its little tour of the usa it arrives in a flat rate box that is obviously been retaped after being smashed open, and it was wet!How hard is it to know not to put a 60 lb package on top of a 1 pound package, and how the package got wet is beyond me. Ok,im over that. Now on to the model Looks like a fun kit, includes a cardboard burger joint display and the transparent purple is psychedelic baby I will give a big two thumbs up to the Sales Shack for fast service and great prices
  12. My kit was scheduled for Monday delivery,it dident show up so i went to the USPS tracking and it went to Florida and has bounced around a couple of city's down there and the latest info says in transit to next destination, who knows where that will be No fault of the seller, just another fun filled exciting service the USPS provides....................at no extra charge I like my models well traveled
  13. Stunning work What is the scale Can you give us any details on the kit or parts?
  14. Jacobus, how right you are.On to step three demonstrates exactly what you mean The method of attaching the spindles to the front axle is borderline hilarious. I did a workaround that i hope will still allow to have the front wheels turn.In the pic you can see the added part to try and fix that. Then to figure out how to get the wheels on the spindles to be square and parallel on the truck And the step three shot waiting for deflashing and a bath
  15. This is not a part of the truck but i plan on this being in the diorama when finished,a two bay Texaco station
  16. Got me to Meyers max dune buggy....................................in metalic purple
  17. Yes,i suspect its gonna be hard to hide.I haven't made my mind up on the color scheme yet but i plan on dressing it in Texaco colors which red is one of them.
  18. A good April 19 to everyone. This is my Truck-A-Thon 2018 build, the Dodge L-700 tanker truck Starting with step one,the engine, the fit of these parts is poor but with sanding and trimming all went together well Next was the wheels and tires.I have only been at modeling a little over a year but i have never come across instructions as unclear is the one included in this kit Parts # not on tree which i have encountered before but the illustrations are just as bad Ok,enough rant and on to step two,the wheels and tires This is the one that had me tied up So off i go to do the flash clean up then to a Dawn soap bath before painting. Next time wee'll see how the engin and wheel paint turns out. Till then Peace Out
  19. Fearless Styrene Assassin, i like that When models see me coming they know theres a glue storm a brewing
  20. Good morning folks If this sounds like a OCD question forgive me In the world of model car judging, does it matter how the raised lettering on the tires is positioned in relation to the horizontal plane of the model? like if the tires had a Goodyear script,i would position that word twelve oclock center If this sounds confusing ive only had one cup of coffee so far
  21. Greetings modelers Put me on the list, picked this up on sale and i do love saving a buck or two My master plan is to build a Texaco gas station diorama that includes this truck. I have the plans from Modeljunkyard.com.If anyone has used these plans i would love to here of any tips or issues. I have the AMT Texaco decals on the way
  22. This is the rig i made I only use water base paint with this booth as it would be frowned upon by the management if i blew up the house The entire booth can be made under a hundred bucks not including the compressor or the airbrush
  23. Im thinkin about doing the Vette,i thought the same about the sound of the car. Ill be the first to admit that in my youth the little gang of street rodders i hung with would do some not safe,un cool stuff. And yep,ive herd the squall of tires in dirt
  24. Hey folks This is a clip that has a lot of good model subjucts in it,and its kinda 60's cool
  25. Thank you guys for the warm welcome. Ill be lurking until i get my second car done. The first one is the Christine Plymouth, working on the Amt Sun Cruiser 51 Chevy Convertible currently.
