  1. Thanks, yeah, it didn't take long to overspray it up. The Military is actually a Mercedes. I have lots of expensive girl kits, some day I will get back on those.... they are a whole different mind-set of skills that I haven't thought about in years. I'll have to relearn doing them. Yup we see all those big black clouds forming and heading east. I say, yup, that's going to be a tornado in Kansas, but we don't get much here. Except oh yeah, I guess there was the mile wide twister up north 60 miles. It's not like living in the midwest.
  2. sometimes I think this is the most interesting thing to see... others work space, and mine is a constant changing mess. and this is what it looks like at this moment.
  3. 10 days and counting. However, today's test sesion was quite exciting with several red flags. LMP1 the Peugeots are fast and are on top of the testing lap times ahead of Audi. However, the #7 Total Peugeot crashed hard, Marc Gene is okay but suffered a broken toe and bruised elbow. The #7 car is a total write-off and is petitioning the organizers for use of a new replacement chassis. The #8 Peugeot shatters the old lap record and does a 3:22.222. So if they stay reliable the will be the cars to beat. GT2 Risi Competizione #82 Ferrari is on top of the GT2 board. The #83 Risi F430 entry was heavily damaged in a crash at the Ford Chicanes, and is not expected to make the show. Tracy Krohn was conscious, and is undergoing examination and observation by medical staff. Right on Risi's tail... you guessed it. ###### FLYING LIZARDS. Only .031 of second seperates the two. BMS Scuderia behind them. This will be the fight to watch! -- disclaimer: if the Ferraris are reliable. GT1 Looks like the Aston Martins are taking the fight to Corvette, sandwiching the Corvettes with a Saleen throw in for fun. 1. 009 Aston Martin Racing 2. Larbre's Saleen S7Rs 3. #64 Corvette Racing 4. #63 Corvette Racing 5. 007 Aston Martin Racing LMP2 The Porsche RS Spyders lead the way and will be racing with the LMP1 cars for an unlikely overall. # 34 van Merksteijn Motorsport ahead of the #31 Team Essex car. However the #32 Barazi Epsilon Zytek was only 0.184 secs behind them. The 4th place Embassy Racing Zytek crashed heavy Dunlop chicane and ends up trapped in the gravel. Joe Foster is sent to the hospital but is okay.
  4. Russia, they drive the like Italians, but same side as here LH drive. Nevertheless, it's not Russian. My wife is Russian and she said the drive crazy but don't get into accidents like here. Sidewalks, curbs, making a 4 lane road from a 3 laned marked road. Stuff like that. Other than the ocational mirror getting knocked off there are few accidents because when people drive there they are driving not 5 million other things besides driving.
  5. That has kind of been my LHS experience. Pretty much a total lack of customer service, care, thoughfulness, and the list goes on and on. Their prices are high, too. on average $2 on a basic Revell, Monogram or AMT kit, and a lot more on more expensice and exotic models - the new Hase Ferrari 250 and a set of wheels was almost $100 with tax. I am not going to pay full retail, sometimes higher to be ingnored, abused, or otherwise put off by the LHS staff and managment when I have found several people and business on line that are more than egar to earn your business with great customer service at a lot less finacial cost. It's a no brainer. To bad the LHS owner and managment hasn't figured it out. They have been so bad at times they have made their way to the Tom Martino show more than once. It's too bad because as far as their inventory goes, it's one of the best shops in the country - certainly in the top five, but I have walked out more than on one occation with a bitter taste in my mouth. I have had some good experiences, too, but the bad ones way over-shadow the good. I go there for "got have now" items only, but most of my hobby dollars are spent online and ebay. There are a couple of Hobby Towns, but they are a drive to get to and haven't had stellar service from either on of those either. Their plastic selection is limited and I have literally have been in the store for over an hour and not a single person acknowledge my presents, and there was at least three employees working in the store. 1. busy stock shelves, 1. busy repairing an RC vehicle and another showing a customer (I think) how good he was on the G2 flight sim. I don't need the headach and nonesense of going into my LHS much less given them any attention or love.
  6. The Go-Gos Skidmarks on My Heart. Pretty much sums it up... You sure know how to hurt a girl Fewer hugs and no more kisses Just water for your carburetor And bearings for your pistons Rev her engine for your pleasure Caress and fondle her steering wheel When you moan and hug her gear shift Stop! Think how it makes me feel CHORUS Skidmarks on my heart You've got me in fifth You're burning rubber like my love I'm driving in risk Spend all your time and money On that Pontiac GTO pile Getting tired of your greasy antics My pride's getting hurt by the mile Blow her engine blow my mind Keep her shocks and brakes aligned I see that you're all jacked up Leaving me and your exhaust behind CHORUS I buy you cologne You want axle grease You say get a mechanic I say get a shrink I need promises You want Motor Trend Our love needs an overhaul This may be the end CHORUS
  7. There are a finite number of possiblities depending on make, model, year and use... just start grabbing yourself a hand full of the smallest wire, thread, and line you can find and play around with it until it "looks" right. I have not been able to readily find small enough gauge wire for a lot of things and have mostly resorted to DM wire. For larger stuff I have a selection of "hanging" wire found in most hardware stores. A good selection of Evergreen plastic is handy to have around when building.
  8. in the evening after everything else is done and has gone to bed. A little light music and I am good for a couple hours. On the weekends it depends on what else is going on.
  9. I am sure they'd been safe with a Porsche 911.
  10. this is still up too
  11. not to mention the direction of the pipes and the power takeoff end would at best make it a mid-engine.
  12. What about the fan?
  13. considering where the radiator and fan is, it would not get any airflow being a rear engine. The only two domestic flat 4s that I know of is Lycoming and Continental.
  14. Corvair had a flat six.
  15. Yeah already IDed it a long time ago. It not a Kurtis.
  16. yup pretty much the way I remember it. super complex suspension with super long susp. arms is what gave it the ride. An XJ6 or 12 was a distant second.
  17. There is only one... and it has a famous legacy that still carries on today. There was also an air-race with the same name.
  18. CAL

    Yellow Enzo

Looks good. Yeah I never use CA for clear. I don't like using CA to start with. Micro Scale Krystal Clear is good stuff for clear. The Tamiya kit is a wonderful kit - it is much more involved than the Revell. It done now, and not coming off.
  19. Rebadging only worked for the short term when car manufacture thought the consumer was stupid and brand loyalty was high. They could sell a Plymouth Neon because there were still some people that is all they owned and would buy. Now, they still think you are stupid, but brand loyalty is at an all time low.
  20. Where have you been. We landed on Mars and digging around the polar caps. The craft will serve as a permanent Martian weather outpost. I donno, but sum un said they's looking for Martian SUVs.
  21. Every one pretty much knew it was going to happen, it’s Pontiac’s track. The Porsche teams were really squawking. Especially when the fastest Pontiac pits early and still almost puts the fastest Porsche a lap down. It’s not too much of a contest between a 6.0 Liter V8 and a 3.6 Liter flat six in virtually the same weight car. The Porsches just don’t have that big V8 torque to get off the corners combined with the short straights they never had a chance. Unless their is a rule change Pontiac is already destined to win every race this year except Daytona. We will see what happens, there is proably some penalty coming down the pipe for Pontiac. Will it be enough, soon enough? If they keep going they will put the series out of business. I know they want to have the American cars on the top to generate interest, but it really discourages the teams that runs Porsche. GT already lost 30% of their entries from a year ago and the other teams are now saying why bother.
  22. Of course I watched it. They only been talking about it since the last Rolex race. You didn't miss much. ###### Lizards had no chance, and it was pick you Pontiac to win. I am sure this is going to bring a weight penalty to Pontiac or release some weight off the handycapped P cars.
