I agree, probably wont see him taking any poles or podiums the first couple of rounds.

Brawn already said MS will take the WDC and WCC. I really wouldn't be that surprised if it goes down like that.
-
I think they will come out of the box strong. Must stronger than last year. It would nice to see a Ferrari vs. Mercedes fight up front.

The official race season kick off

It was perfectly clear to me -
And some changes. For obvious reasons no more Pontiacs in DP. Lexus dropped out. The new BMW DPs are fast, but are they reliable? Last year no BMW DPs but they did debuted the GT BMW but broke and DNFed. Nobody knows if they can do 24hrs. Can Brumos Porsche defend last years win? Brumos with the lone flat six and others running the V8, like Action Porsche. Another kind of surprise, no Penske team. Not sure what happened to them. The field shrunk down to 14. In GT, of course we have the Corvettes in the mix, AMLS Flying Lizards with the help of TRG, again old Pontiacs, RX-8 expanded to 8 cars, Lots of other GT cars Porsche Pontiac BMW Mazda Corvette a couple F430s and the New Camaro, didn't see the Mustangs return.

I think they call it something else know Pledge with Future shine.

Yeah, me too, I got my other Safari Lancia Stratos today. She doesn't know a thing about it. I don't get it. She doesn't say anything when I get a $400 or more dollar RC helicopter or a $100 order of parts, but has a complete melt down, not always, but sometimes - most times, over a $40 plastic kit.

I would sand and polish off as much as you can and shoot some Future on it. I had a clear part that was just scratched up and with Future on it you can't even tell. It is one of my best looking clear parts.

That is the kit I keep coming back to, as well. There are 3 or 4 on Ebay right now.

A Lancia Beta Montecarlo, yeah, Group 5.

"Eleanor" fender flares and ground effects
CAL replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have done it, I didn't do a how to do it though. It was a lot of work. -
That can't be it. Actually if you go to Formula 1.com you can see the real car. No covers. Slightly different markings. #4 obvousily. Slightly different intake and vertical... barage board.

I know! Amazing nothing was busted up; a coupe (3) parts fell off the sprus but were intact.

I got one of my Stratos HFs today. Dang. I can see why now this could be a trouble kit to build. The body cuts way under the chassis. Never seen anything quite like that before.
-
Another Ferrari that's not a Ferrari. Surprising inspite of the box being more of a ball than a box the kit survived. Ohh I like those old heller kits.

Thanks I will have to remember all this. I have a street version and this exact rally kit. I was kind of hoping for the big flairs though.

There are only a handfull of places where the body shops got together and started associtiations and standed strong against the DRPs, Progressive, and the Insurance companies. Every where eles the are a bunch of weak-sucks and rather come off their door rates or get into bed with the insurance companies. It has worked out very well in New Jersy and AZ where the body shop association is very strong and fought it out - especailly with Progressive. Here, and most other places will lay down for Progressive's brain damage just to be a DRP. While it is nice to be a DRP for some companies you will always end up doing what the insurance company says or get booted off. And you never make full door rate being a DRP, which is generally what the job costs with a good profit margin to stay in business. I can say that there is one high end shop that does Porsche, Mercedes, Ferrari, high end cars and doesn't back down to the insurance companies. He gets away with because usually these people have lots of influance and big accounts so the customer just calls up the insurance company and says why aren't you paying for the whole bill? They just pay. So standing up to them does work just not enough BS owners do it because there is always a guy down the street that will do it cheaper. Doing cheaper than what it really costs always ends in tears. You either have to cut corners and can't put out quality work or you go broke trying to do for cheaper than what it costs. -
That is cool, me too, I just ordered that kit.

Yes, it is a dying art. The insurance companies have too much power and not as much stuff is getting fixed as there used to be. Plus more people are just taking the money and run with it and not fixed their cars. On top of that, Colorado, was flooded with body shops, so it is hard to make a stable living at it. -
Actually it was Group B rally that were the "Too Fast To Race Cars". Most of the Stratos Rally cars were non-turbo Group 4 cars. The Group 5 Turbo car was built for close circuit endurance racing but failed misserably aginst the killer Porsche 935s. There was a Group 5 Stratos Rally-Cross car, but it didn't compete in the WRC. The Group B purpose built Lancia was a 037, and not a Stratos.
