SpeedTV AUTO123 F1 Central Reports are coming out now that USF1 had the money in place but the team was so poorly managed under the leadership of Ken Anderson the car never got done in a timely fasion. So the funds they did have were pulled after backers were noticing or not noticing any progress on the car. They are a long long way away from having a car. They have a basic cockpit tub and nose a couple of bulkheads, actually since they crushed the nose in a crash test in the UK they might not even have a nose anymore. The whole opperation is pretty petheic at this point. Guys not getting paid on time, more than 10 people have quite, not including some high ranking marketing and management people who have left in the recent weeks. The former for the tub was done in Dec 09 and sat for over a month before any mats were even cut. Looks like USF1 is refusing to even talk with Stefan about a possible merger, so then there are a number of legal issues with canceling USF1's aggrement and contracting Stefan GP that cannot possible be over come to give them the green light. So probably neither USF1 nor Stefan GP will be on the grid. Kovalainen said that his Lotus was absolutely the worst F1 car he ever drove, worse than even the Manardi he tested 6 years ago. It's about 10+ off the pace and bits keep fall off. Sounds like a Lotus.

I agree, but don't hold your breath the Anderson/Windsor camp could produce toaster ovens muchless a F1 car.

FIA's Charlie Whiting, USF1 has acknowledged that it is not able to contest any of the 2010 season and has applied to delay its official entry until 2011. And it's getting ugly between USF1 who doesn't have a pot to piss in and Stefan GP who has a car ready to go.

Yeah, since there was no 1973 914-6, and 72 is the rarest of them all except GTs. World Wide prodcution was very small indeed. 1970 2668 1971 443 1972 240

That is why you got to do it for current market value or replacement cost at time of loss. It's not a cheap policy or easy to get. A lot of insurance can't or won't do it. The other way is more labor intensive is to say it is X amount of dollars and you have an agreement that insurance will pay X amount of dollars. Then you have to update it and needed. Just to assume that just becuase you have a record of the item you will get paid accordingly on it, well you will get screwed. You have tell your insurance what you have and what you want it covered for, which will always require and addendum or a rider to you existing policy. Trust me, I know someone who has gone through this. Lost his entire collect in a fire. They gave $5 per unbuilt kit. 0 for built kits and 0 for and supplies and materials. He ended up with about $500 on a estimated $20,000 collection of built and unbuilt, and including quite a bit of diecast, tools and supplies. He said he couldn't even replace his tools for $500. Originally they only wanted to pay $250 but he got a bump after a lot of bitching moaning and crying. After it was all said and done he figures he was shorted about $60K on everthing lost. He was cracked for a long time, the settlement was just about covered enough to rebuild the house and nothing else.

You just need to get a rider for REPLACEMENT VALUE so you don't get screwed. Otherwise they consider them used toys and give you $5 a pop. The other think my insurance told me the best record is a video tape of the collection that is kept in a safety deposit box, and updated yearly or when significant changes are made.

I saw the video, didn't look exactly like tire shake, it was all over the place though and kept jerking to that side. They are speculating because of the recent rains the water table raised to just below the track surface and possibly caused a distrubance in the track, maybe that caused it, but it sure looked like a serious mechancial failure. Antron said it felt strange and he let up and hit it again and felt strange then the wheel came off. But even he didn't come out and say it shook the tires off the car. It looks like larry the lawyer has done a real good job pulling all related materials off the internet though. We may never know the truth, like Ayrton Senna, the 20 seconds of proof was distroyed. -

That is not true exactly. Even back when I was involved there was a number of rule changes requarding wheels, studs and nuts for exactly this reason. In the 1970s the 917/30 was the most powerful car in the world and still holds some world records. In the Turbo Era an F1 in qualifying trim a 1L could produce upto 1685hp or 21 hp per CID, vs even a modern day TF which is what 10 maybe 15 HP per CID. A 1978 934 was 2500# 850hp and did 8.9 1/4 street legal race car and did the 24hrs of LeMans -
Tamiya doesn't make it habit of making anything bad. So it's probably good stuff.

that is the beauty of stats you can make them say whatever you want them too. Well they tried to make a criminal case out of Senna's death, and brought manslaughter charges agianst several people and there has been several legal trials... I am not sure it still hasn't been all resolved. All I am saying is F1 has done an outstanding job with safety, yes it came at the cost of Senna, but they do not play the waiting game any longer. The fatalities aside, I am not so sure NASCAR and NHRA, and CART one of the worst offenders were nearly as proactive in safety as F1. I am sure I could walk around a NASCAR and pick out a dozen if not more things that could be improved with reguards to safety, not withstanding the 3400# Nascar tank vs. 1334# F1 fueled with driver. F1 is way ahead of me in safety innovations. -
What Dremel would you buy?

This is the best moto tool around. I just couldn't think of the name before. I don't have one but I did use one. It is a low speed high tourque foot pedal controlled with a flex wand. http://www.foredom.com/ It makes any dremel look like a toy. -

That 52 last year included specators, and crew as well as drivers. I was surprised to see how many specators were killed. It is a high percent, and most were at Dakar and WRC.
