The model, is a series II Coupe HF 1.3s Typical Italian car of the era: Looked great but not so reliable and stuff fell off regularly. -

It was on both cars, and has been there for a long time (1997). They still have a contract with Marlboro until 2011. That is were the Marlboro name would have gone. The "bar-code" used to be present whenever they raced where tobacco advertisement was banned. Now it is banned everywhere so that is all Marlboro gets. It will be there next year too. -

I don't know. To me they haven't sounded the same since they gone back to V8 and limited them 17,000 rpm. The 20,000 rpm V10s were screamers, and nothing compares to the V12 Farrari. It always sounds like they are not going full out. -

Yeah. It looks like it might be Vettle Alonos battle to the end. Thank god, Ferrari is looking good after last year's disaster. I think Red Bull's major problem is going to be reliability. They have a very good car but spent far too long in the wind tunnel and not enough time on the track sorting it out. Unlike Ferrari who had done something like the equivalent of 22 full races in preseason testing. Mark Webber car had a tendency to overheat, made big mushroom clouds at the start or race and they were cutting bits off both cars with a hack-saw during qualifying. If anyone had they perfect cars it was Ferrari. Red Bull has a great car but it's not quite relable yet. Mclaren look strong, but they have straight line speed issues. Mercedes doesn't have a car yet. mid pack Renault, STR, Williams and Force India look about the same as always, but look out for Force India they might beable to challege some of the front runners. Back markers At least Lotus finished the race, and did notice anything fall off the cars. It's a miracle because up until yesterday bits were fall off left and right. Campos, Hispano they just barely made the grid so that was expected. And Virgin hasn't had much running either. -

Kind of like old time. Ferrari 1-2 Michael Shummacher racing To be honest the no fueling is safer, but is less eventfull. They are ###### fast though. Ferrari started working on their new car mid-season last year when it was clear they had a dog and it's paid off. Yeah. Sauber-BMW-Ferrari. -
Masters, the things you are going to use to make the model. You mean they have the CNC maps for a 917? Or are you scanning it in and just resizing?

It it a little tricky to work with, but it's shinny stuff. You must be doing something wrong. You gotta airbrush it straight out of the bottle with heavy coats. -
How about starting something new on here.

Yeah, I am banned. He thinks I single handedly tried to distroy his business. Which he is way over the top on. I am just another in a long list of fomers who have been either banned or left in a huff. -
Yeah but cars are their bread and butter. They cannot compete, or have been able to with the hard core Armor and Airplane guys on any sort of meaningful level. Those guys tend to be just a little more picky about the kits they buy and build. RM tried to break in a little bit with some higher quality DML kits but a lot of people didn't know what they were or the ones who did had a pile of original DML kits. So that didn't go over that well. There was a time when they did reasonable quality Airplane kits: the PBY, JU-52, and HE-111. However, those bigger twin-engines and tri-engine kits are just a little harder get the numbers on no matter what the quality is. I know it's also very hard to say let's build another ME-109 or FW-190 with so many fantastic kits out there already. So what do you do? Armor is worse, there are fewer armor builders and almosts nobody can compete with DML/Cyber hobby with their new line of kits at their price point. I mean look at the Tiger, super detailed inside and out, casted metal parts, PE, chains, even a litte metal bucket with a $50 - $60 price point. I can't even remember the last time Tamiya released a new armor kit in 1/35th scale. Tamiya has been hammering 48th pretty well though. And now they are starting to dabble in micro RC, but they are not even in the running with the hottest thing going: mini and micro helis. I am not saying they can't do it, but they have their work cut out for them to capture any of those other markets. You end up being either GM or Porsche. You either do one thing really, really well and perfect it, or you do a whole bunch of fair things. Everybody knows what happened to GM. Porsche was one of the most profitable with cash on hand car manufacturers in the world - until they too, became stupid and tired to buy VW, which was a huge mistake and Porsche ended up being bought up by VW. Finding the balance is the magic - the black arts, and with anything you have to be at the right place, at the right time, with the right product, with the right marketing. There is no formula for that; all you can do is stack the odds in your favor and try to hit the marks before the other guy does. Following the other guy you just cut your odds in half. I suspect it's going to be someone heavy on paper and light on substance like typical corp. America: all the credentials but couldn't make a good decision if their life depended on it.

Let see... I got a little 2 in screwless machine vise and some parallels and a big pile of junk that used to be a 7X10 lathe.

And I still say a shark is a shark and not no fish.
-
Well just let them keep thinking that a Shark is a fish. Silly Encyclopedia If a shark is a fish why not just call it a Great White Fish. Why do they have to call them sharks?
-
What do they know.
-
Humph I was always under the impression sharks were classified differently for a number of shark specific characteristics.
