Porsche is threatening again to come back to LeMans.

Could be, it (the LM) was built to extend it's running at Le Mans into the 90s some 20 years after it was first built.

Well it was built for Group B ralley but it was banned befor it could race. It raced Dakar and did well. Finished 1st and 2nd a third non-entered support 959 finished 6th.

Apparently so, Once upon a time I tried cataloging them all. You should know by now everything Porsche has a type number. It kind of mostly makes sense, but then there are some unexplained holes. There where whole series ranges not used or allocated to stuff never built. But pretty much all the 900 series numbers were used.

FIA denied USF1's request to postpone their entry to 2011. If that is the case, Anderson said, "there is nothing more we can do, we are done." Several former employees had said that they don't have any better chance of getting a car on the grid in 2011 as they do getting a car to Bahrain, which is 8 days away. It looks as though USF1 is done, and not coming back - ever.

TC, TPMS, DSG, ECU, Tire, DFI, CCB and host of other technologies and safety equipment have all come from or prefected by F1. And a great deal of that technology is on your everyday road car.

We don't need one, but we should have one. Common, it the cutting edge, the pinnacle of motorsports. It's a huge money pit but the rewards are grand. NASCAR has nothing to give back but an entertainment value and people are growing board with it.

Oh common, Porsche had some dogs with VW and Audi in the past. BTW the 918 has already been used. Is this Porsche's answer to running out of numbers, recycling them?

I saw that earlier on AW, pretty cool. They also have a Hybird RSR 911.

We are just learning that USF1 closed there doors today and seinor staff memeber told employees that there services were no longer needed in Charlotte NC.
