  1. That is cool, I don't know that there is a kit of one. A lot of people don't realize Porsche does have a handfull of Formula One World Championships.
  2. LOL I have some 356s and been looking at that 550 conversion. I just have settled on tossing down the coin. That is the old Hasegawa kit IIRC. I have a bunch of those Tamiya 962 that were formerly RC cars. Pretty simple curbside. The glass is already glued in from the factory, so that is a little distressing.
  3. Close but not really. Wrong year, model/class, engine displacement It is a prototype but that is obvious. A 901 was what the 911 was originally designated before being sued by Peugeot Here is an actual 901 And I believe the 972 was a 911 GT3 Cup car.
  4. Yeah, that works, that is how I got going on the Starliner.
  5. Sorry that is incorrect guess again.
  6. Funny, there is big black whole in my collection... I don't think I have a single BMW. I do have a couple 300SL AMT's and Heller's coupes. I don't remember who did the roadster... I was thinking a Tbolt. Another kit with a lot of BMF... so I am not so sure Maybe a 120 Jag. or R8, R10, the New Nova see too many choices. If I could get my hands on one I would build the Heller Bentley Blower.
  7. Yeah, you said some 98 LMP car... Yup it's a Fabcar. Yup it was turbocharged. Come on man.... It race with the suffering Toyota Eagle.
  8. I was thinking of a quickie 962 kit... You know I used keep track of all the decals for Porsche race cars but I kind of fell out of touch with that. Let me see if I can jog my memory. I think Scale Motorsports did a bunch of GT1 decals.
  9. Actually I never seen one explode... I never even heard of one exploding. Usually, you shut them off one time and a you'll hear the loudest back fire you ever heard in your life that spits out all the tip seals and they don't have enough compression to start up agian.
  10. Just sitting here think about it and nothing's jumping out at me.... Maybe I need to buy another kit...
  11. Cool. That's funny. The trans catching on fire. I think they had some other fire issues on some of there other cars as well due to the very hot running rotarys. The musta of not put enough vents in the hood. Whats with the big bullet hole in the hood.
  12. Milliputt is probably a little harder than styrene, but is still sands, drills, cuts, files, and grinds easily. If it is a big piece you may want to use an amature, I would also use plumber putty, another two part epoxy putty found in the hardware store, to get a real rough shape made and finish with milliputt. Milliputt is expesive and there is no sense on using a ton of it just to take up space. Use the cheap stuff, plumbers putty for that and do you final work with milliputt over your rough structure.
  13. And depending on your "scupture" there are some tricks to working with this stuff.
  14. Not bad for an engine the size of a milk crate.
  15. Yeah that happens with synthetic lacquers and alcohol
  16. Badger Paasche Testors Iwata all make a decent compressors in that range.

  18. I doubt it. For all practical purposes they have one with the Audi R10 since they own 35 or so percent of VW and are fixen to get controlling interest. Plus diesel doesn't really fit the Porsche image.
  19. Well they were basically the same car. The difference was in the 962 to comply with the rule chance stating that the driver could not extend past the front wheels. A lot people thought it was to keep the dominate 956 from the series thinking Porsche wouldn't build an entirely new GTP car. No cherrys no March. It was an IMSA car. So to recap. You don't have the year right, Fabcar is the correct make, no model/class, Porsche engine.
  20. Had I known it was going to be radical customs I would have dug out my SuperSpeedster out. Okay it's started but just flairs on one side.

Thanks guys Yeah, probably tomorrow. I literally just finish when I took these, and there was still drying paint and glue, so I didn't want to handle it too much.
  22. I say you're not a real car guy until you have raced, blowup, killed, demolished and distroyed at least one car. Oh yeah. The Formula Firebird, also not my fault. Goofy girls, and squirrels. First the goofy squirrel decides that it would be a pretty good place to store nuts on top of the engine of a 1969 Buick GS. Goofy girl floors it and the throttle sticks wide-open going down the highway. She pulls into the emergency lane at full throttle. Okay I’ll give her credit for that, but why not just shut the car off? Noooooo! She pulled the accelerator peddle clean off the floor trying to slow this thing down. Well it happened, just as she passed me, she ran out of road at a railway crossing and hit 7 of 9 sand barrels at an estimated 120mph and shot out across three lanes of traffic on two wheels and took out my Formula Firebird and 5 other cars.
