Calling the body work on the bed done, I'm thinking about applying the design into a revell 66 chevy truck kit. -

Did not meet my goal, this old plastic has been fighting me.......it is sagging and warped. Thought the roof was ok until I wet sanded it and seen all the low spots and the driver side bed is very warped. Still pushing through and about to get back to it. I will take some more pics and post up my progress. Thanks Guys, I was going to paint it a testers metallic lacquer but with the issues I mentioned above I'm going to shoot it flat black and then some 2X satin clear. I might go ahead and paint the roof red. -
Looking very good Bill. I have a dodge truck that one of those grilles would look killer on. To answer your question, my parts bought so far are for a not started project. I will make sure to post pics once done / in progress, the dodge is almost finished though and that would get posted quick. Might snag the dodge hubcaps as well.

The bottom pics with it black is how I bought it. -
I went to last Sundays Detroit auto modelers toy and model show and found this old chevy truck. I gave $10.00 for it, wood putty was used for the body work so I removed all of that with the paint in the old purple pond and now I'm in the process of turning this into a mild 60's custom. The chassis is a screw bottom impala and the whole truck was to far modified to save as an original. I following this one through........ Using AMT galaxie custom parts. I have more pics with some putty on it. will get those posted up later. Plan on having it in paint this weekend. Not going to spend a ton of time on it, my goal is a cool shelf model.

Thanks guys, I need the push on it. I'm just glad I had it set in a case all these years. The engine is done as well. Missing one tire/wheel and front cross member and all of the suspension.

Super excited but d--n late 2020......................... -
This is an old project I started around 2005. It was almost done and somehow I dropped it and broke the front frame. Last night I repaired the frame and I'm now going to finish it. I changed the paint job a little. The actual car had a white fade at the bottom, I chose to not do that.

Very convincing. I'll try that here soon. Thanks!!

I remember this, the COT..... and then ended up going back to traditional style cars. That really saves the teams money. ?

Why do you build models?
wrenchr replied to Oldmopars's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Great topic!! Been building since I was a kid, my Dad was a big supporter of mine as a kid through my teenage years. He passed when I was 19. 42 now and building pretty regular now, through my 20's and 30's did not get much built...as others have said life got busy so hobby time was limited. What inspires me is my fascination of automobiles and modeling opens up all makes to me and as I get older I find it very relaxing as well. -
digging it.............................
