  1. Very nice work and congrats on the award
  2. He only built them for the final season a vfx and production designer named Michael Schaffe designed the interior dash and over head console and the custom nose for season 1 and was brought back in to redesign those for season 3
  3. Thank you I am starting to work on the Jon ward hero car KITT from the series pilot which had a different front end I still need to find another mpc knight rider kitt to do the season 1/2 version hero car KITT and then find a couple aoshima season 3 and season 4 KITT model kits and a couple amt/ertl knight rider 2000 knight 4000 model kits
  4. Thank you it is a very fun series and holds up very very well today since they used more practical effects and they also filmed the actors in the car while driving on the actual roads unlike most other shows of the time which those scenes were filmed in front of blue screen on a sound stage knight rider was one of the most expensive series nbc made it also was part of reason it was canceled after season 4 also George barris built 4 cars for the show the full time convertible roadster from his personal 82 firebird hardtop the full time drivable super pursuit mode KITT ,the convertible buck insert trailer car with working convertible roof and the hydraulic transforming super pursuit mode car and he redesigned and made the custom noses for KITT for season 4 also only 5 screen used knight rider cars exist the full time convertible KITT is in the dezer museum in orlando a hero car is in the cars of the stars museum in England and one of the stunt cars is on loan from the knight rider historians at the Peterson museum in California one is in a personal collection and another stunt car is owned by the knight rider historians they also own the screen used semi that KITT would drive up into in the show which they are currently restoring
  5. I made this using another original mpc 82 firebird kit that was partly built and painted I popped it apart and redid it as one of the three general purpose hardtop stunt car KITTs they used during all 4 seasons of the show the car I made I replica of here had a pretty much factory stock nose except for the fog lights in the lower front end the the scanner light that this car also had a skid plate under the car to protect the easily damaged parts like the transmission and suspension and oil pan it was also one of the 3 cars that had high traction drop downs on the front and rear suspension that when engaged would raise either the back of body or front of the body or both front and back of the body of the car up so it would sit higher off the ground and give the stock tires more traction in sand or dirt This car was in the several episodes across all 4 seasons but only a total of 77 seconds of footage of it in total across all those episodes most of this footage is from season 3 two part season opener knight of the drones i have a actual piece of music from the actual show playing in the background of the video
  6. Thank you high gloss black paint is hard to keep clean it is a finger print and dust magnet I even washed my hands before handling the model and very lightly touched it to try and minimize it but it still picked them up
  7. that is not me singing that is gabriela bee i had one of her songs called sound in color playing in the background of the video
  8. thanks i have recently redid this in a completely different way
  9. thank you this is a replica of one of the 3 general purpose hardtop stunt cars with fake t-tops that was used in all 4 seasons of the original show
  10. Thank you
  11. thank you i have another different knight rider hardtop general purpose stunt car kitt that i will be posting tomorrow
  12. Thank you
  13. I made this model using the front nose and back bumper from a mpc knight rider Kitt model kit and a original mpc 82 firebird kit I wanted to make one of the general purpose hard top stunt car KITTs they used on the show they would make it look like the car had t-tops via strips of metal or plastic either riveted or glued to the hard tops roof I mimic it using some wires from a old pair of earbuds I also made a skid plate that all these stunt cars had to cover the oil pan and transmission and some of the front suspension also the stunt cars would either have a pretty much factory stock dash with a cut out plastic of cardboard outline of the top of knight rider dash on top of the factory stock dash pad or a the hollow knight rider dash frame work I have a piece of music from the show called KITT to the rescue playing in the background
  14. Amazing work looks great
  15. Very nice work looks great
  16. Nice work looks awesome job
  17. awesome work looks great the chassis issue might have been cause they modifed this kit at some point in the 90's to make a 69 torino talladega kit and that car had a longer front end then the torino cobra does you can see optional parts from the talladega version in the parts trees with all 69 torino releases after it
  18. Thank you
  19. I have but I found something else that dries quicker and is cheaper and I get a lot more though it does need to have brush on gloss clear coat applied before I can paint it or it will not have the same texture as the model parts and I use a brush on matte clear coat for interior parts
  20. Thank you
  21. I have been using that metallic black on 3 of the 4 other what if knight rider kitts I am making using 3rd gen Camaros and they are a mix of ideas from both the original knight rider series and the short lived 08/09 knight rider series two of the three metallic black what if kitts are finished except for the license plate decals I am waiting on to come so I can take pics and film the turntable videos of
  22. Very very awesome work looks great
  23. Very nice work looks great going by the vents in the hood and the rims it looks like 2015 cause the revell build and play 2015 mustang gt snap kit had those same rims and same hood vents though the rear spoiler wing looks like the one that comes with the revell build and play 2018 mustang gt snap kit but it has different style rims and hood vents
  24. Thank you I do enjoy making knight rider cars as they have a lot of fun parts that I can make like the dash and interior components and when I have to I can scratch make the custom front ends I just don’t have enough of the rims and the steering wheels I modify into the gull wing steering wheel which I used my last one of those spare 76 gran torino steering wheels to make the one for this car the other one went into the knight industries 3000 model I made
  25. Thank you
