  1. Hi Oliver! Thank you. And you are right: there are many "fit issues" in this kit. Choosing to shut the doors permanently solved a few, but was also a lot of finishing/block sanding work. Reminded me of the AMT Avanti in this respect. Learning curve... CT
  2. Hi Mark! Thank you for the comments, and making my education about skateboard! As to the "mad creations", I'm afraid my wife shares your opinion... But, we have more coming, stay tuned! CT
  3. Thank you Rusty! I too love the basic design of the 58. But I find that the more you move away from the "chrome barge" cues, the better it gets! CT
  4. Hi! Well, you know what they say: "a secret is something you reveal to one person at a time". Do you share that view? LOL CT
  5. Hi Jim! Your new take on this classic is great, The roof pulls it forward in time, but the rear pays hommage to the custom tradition. A fine blend. Bravo! CT
  6. HI! I was a Goodguys (and NSRA) member for a while, and lately, Goodguys started to send me (for free) their digital weekly "report", called Fuel Curve Insider. It features excerpts from their Gazette pages, and numnerous photo coverage of their events. It is a great source as to what colors and styles are "trending". However, I mus admit that these days, we see the living embodiment of "all that is old is new again". Maybe that's the definition of getting old: stuff you once favored comes back in vogue? It feels like it... But some new ideas emerge. CT
  7. Hi Jim! I'll try not to stop. It shouldn't be too hard... CT
  8. Salut Mario! Thank you. I try to explore new things, to keep engaged... CT
  9. Hi Francis! Thanks for the comments. Truth be told... I'm a Blue Oval guy. Might have to do with the fact my first four cars were Ford(s)? Who knows? CT
  10. HI! I've noted that among all modifications, a modern roof transplant projects a "classic" in the current era. So... Take a Monogram 58 TBird convertible, and mold on a Revell 92 Cougar greenhouse. Get rid of the wipers. Mold the doors shut (quite a chore!), mold the bumpers and trunk gaps, adjust the stance, bring in a Foose FD100 rolling stock & disc brakes, add the Cougar dash & seats. Then, scratchbuild front grille, bars, headlights, mirrors, firewall, injection system, door panels, shifter, hand brake lever, speakers enclosure & rear tub, carpet, etc. Lay on Tamya's AS-29 + pearl + Mr.Hobby super clear & top coat. Polish everything. Wires & hoses, plus touches of Molotow's chrome, and VoilĂ ! Hours of fun with styrene! CT PS: Thanks to fellow modeler Plowboy for sharing the color code he used on a sweet street-rod featured elsewhere on this forum.
  11. Hi Eric! Happy you consider my suggestion, AMT offered the Ivo car lately, it's even on the shelf of my LHS as we speak. But in order to apply the tricky paint I know you have in mind, you may have to glue the many panels together first, and slide the bare chassis in later. Otherwise, you will have numerous panel joints. The lakester below was built this way, and it is more work, but can be done. Good luck with your project! CT
  12. Hi Eric! Then, may-I suggest something in the lines of the Yellow Fang dragster? It was almost a show-dragster, if I remember correclty... CT
  13. Hi Glen! Beautifull design, great execution. Il makes it somehow much more contemporary. And the Pegasus rollingstock fits like a glove! Bravo! CT
  14. Hi Mario! Very clean built, and the color suits it perfectly. Bravo! CT
  15. Thank you, much appreciated! CT
