  1. Don't forget to look over your shoulder. A lady by the name of Bella might well catch-up with you! CT
  2. Thank you Sir! Well, coming from the Master of Kitbash, it is a source of pride. USPS tracking suggest my copy of your latest book should be delivered in a few days. Can't wait to dig in it. I'm certain I'll see kits that I forgot existed, or worse yet, once graced the shelves of my room when I was 10. CT
  3. Hi Mate! Well, thank you so much for the praise. You'll make me blush. As they say: "Packaging is everything"... I hesitated between the Chrysler grille and a 35 Mercedes unit. The Merc was a smidge too tall, and squarish, which clashed with the rotund shape of the 36. Decisions, decisions... The joy of kitbash. CT
  4. Thank you Gary. Actually, that's the first thing i strive to determine at the beginning of a project; The relation between the chassis, rollingstock and body can make or kill the look, isn't it? CT
  5. Hi Peter! Somehow, I can't open the pix. What to do then? CT
  6. Thank you Peter! The hardest part of the built was blending the roof to the belt line in a satisfactory way. This AMT kit is finnicky in that respect. The half-round reveal that runs under the door window opening is tapered, somehow, whereas on the 1/1 car, it is constant from the quarter panel to the cowl. SO, lotsa sanding, putty and primer. What can you do... CT
  7. Hi Chris! Thank you. Once it is extracted from its native surroundings (fenders and hood), it focuses more attention on its beautiful design, in my view... CT
  8. Hi Paul! Candy urethnane in 5th grade? My God, that is very young... No surprise your finishes are as fantastic as they are. It all makes sense now... almost unfair! (just kidding...) CT
  9. Thank you Ray... but don't put too much pressure on me. I'm an old man, getting older by the day... CT
  10. Thank you Mike. All the better if I can make a "convert" of you... CT
  11. Hi Paul! I remember seeing your low slung 36... What a stance, and that shimmering finish. Talent runs in the family, obviously! CT
  12. Thank you Bob. Glad you like it! CT
  13. Hi David! Thanks. It is more "massive" than the Ford unit... The Chrysler was a luxury car after all. More money: more chrome! CT
  14. Hi Paul! Thank you. And to say I passed on a real pristine one (1/1) in the 70's... because I would only care for a 33 3W... Ah, the folly of youth! CT
  15. Hi! Had a few copies of this kit, and went for a mash-up: Lindberg's 38 Ford framerails (modified), Foose F100 rolling stock, Revell's 41 Willys powertraint, 9" Ford rear. Scratchbuilt: front & rear suspensions, air shocks & compressor-tank in trunk, inverted rumble seat converted to standard lid, tubs, floor, firewall, interior, tunnel, injector linkage, brakes & hoses. Grille shell from MPC's 32 Chrysler. Custom mixed acrylic finish, with Testor's Wet Look clear. Fully polished. Hours of fun with styrene! CT
  16. Hi Sir! Nice combo, very convincing. They look like those "spy shots" that some undercover photo journalists hiding in the bushes would sell to Car & Driver to fuel rumours. Bravo! On a different note, my copy of your new book has been mailed by the publisher last week. I'm tracking it with the USPS ap. Can't wait... CT
  17. Hi Dale! If you look up the word "gloss" in the Webster, I guess that's the picture beside it... Impressive. May I ask what kind of clear you use? CT
  18. Thanks Cliff! I happen to think Chevy should have used that platform for the Camino, instead of the Chevelle. Luckily, we have styrene to experiment... CT
  19. Hi David! Well, the basic design is fantastic in its own right, so just a shave and a drop is all it needs! CT
  20. Hi Sir! What a truck. It DOES look like it could start, to quote you. World class. Bravo! CT
  21. Hi! The 41 Monogram Continental is all that has been stated above... plus, it is much WIDER in the middle of the cabin than the 40 Ford. It WAS a luxury high-end car after all, so it had to play the part back then... CT
