Paint came out beautifully. Good old tamiya. Really hard to beat for consistent super nice paint jobs. Just for me though, not available locally anymore.
i used what they call a hot pink testors enamel but I had to darken it a little on my Bobby Allison charger that was really a Robbins car that Allison prepared for Robbins and borrowed it for a few races in 1971. that pink seemed to change a little from car to car.
Looks perfect, Mark. Giving me a lot of inspiration to finally do the one I bought many moons ago. But it will be out of the bag, there was no box, and no extra detailing. Again beautiful build.
Ok, now I get it, but did Petty actually drive a satellite in 1973? I thought he was all charger by then. That must have cost a lot to to make a resin of.
Looks, awesome, but i'm having trouble wrapping my head around the scratchbuilt statement. Doesn't some one make this model in 1/16 scale so you shoudn't have to scratch build it? Maybe i'm just cofused ,as usual.
Great job , Bruce. You definitely got your 5 bucks out of that model. Excellent paint job and overall build. And for your first Nascar build you hit it out of the park.
Thanks James I forgot to post it. By the way here is the real car at the Southern 500 in 1965. The car blew an engine there and took out Dick Hutcherson who could have possibly beaten Jarrett who was the last factory ford left in the race.
