Paint Booth Venting
FASTBACK340 replied to FASTBACK340's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Some good advice guys, thanks! My booth does have a filter in the back. I'm planning on using it right next to the window, so it should be a unobstructed flow. And as for the Happy Wife Happy Life, you have no idea how cool my Wife is. When I mentioned my concern about over spray on the house, she reminded me we plan on painting next spring. Plug it in and "see what happens" was her comment.... -
Yeah.... They're out there. I had one guy flat out tell me I had the incorrect grain on my door panels! I told him not to look under the hood or the 6 Bbl. would kill him. And yes, my car had a full page feature in Mopar Enthusiast and a mention ( with pictures....) in Mopar Muscle. And my rear main seal drips, but don't tell anyone!

Now that's funny! Everybody should take a deeeeeeep breath and pump the brakes..... Let's have fifty posts debating the validity of some of those Gals assets . At least study those pictures for faults would be enjoyable! BTW: Whenever I have my car at a show or cruise and someone tries and pick my car apart I just ask them where their car is. The critics usually shut up and move along.....

Paint Booth Venting

I had bought this booth on a trip to Toledo about 12 yrs. ago. I'm finally getting around to using it. As for the venting, if need be I'll put it back in the basement and vent it under my deck. -
I'm finally done with my big house projects for this season and now is my time. Besides returning my garage to normal, I'm getting the hobby room back on-line and I have a question. I have a tiny spare bedroom in my house that I use as a hobby room. There's one window that opens on the front of the house. If I add a spray booth in there, how can I "filter" the vented air? I don't want to ruin the siding on the house as it's white over red....with the window in the white area. BTW: I have a Harbor Freight booth Thanks!

Drag radials and turbos
FASTBACK340 replied to FAST442's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Ma's has pictures of the MT Drag Radials on their Fotki site, but no mention in their price list. I too inquired about a set from another caster and want to see my options, price-wise. -

I know Norm personally and he's a perfectionist. He didn't even vend at NNL East! I was shocked to see him walking about enjoying the show for once! He said he couldn't possibly fill any more orders in a timely fashion if he sold there. Imagine passing on the biggest show in the country to keep his customers happy? Norm is a class act. He doesn't need an actual internet site. We're doing it right now for him. -
I didn't mean to slight the workmanship, which is great. I'm just not a custom/show rod type of guy. Sorry for offering my opinion..... Still a cool build. Love the body mods!

Very cool idea .....very cool.

Rest in Peace Brindle

I hate reading these posts.... I've always had, and always will, have at least 1 Dog as part of our family. Nothing beats their love and devotion. Brindle was indeed a beautiful little Lady, too bad she left so soon. Condolences from my family to yours. -
went to the drags today

The Bantam reminds me of going to Maple Grove years ago for the Nostalgia show and seeing a restored Willys! Shocked the heck out of me seeing one with narrow white walls and bumpers! But back to your post: Awesome stuff. The Convo-Pro's don't really work on the `59 Pontiac, but the shorty rails and injected flatheads.... cooooool! Love the vintage stuff when ingenuity ruled because there were no rules limiting ingenuity. -
Sorry, but you lost me with the Spa ..... I would have gone with 8 Lug rims & Super Duty markings.

Mixed messages...

I just sheared off a rear universal joint destroying my driveshaft & pinion yoke on the Barracuda. Between the new driveshaft, joints, and the pinion yoke, not to mention the hypoid additive and gear lube, I'm into it for almost $300. That was an expensive hole-shot.......in an equally expensive hobby. BTW: I've sent my Wife to Alta twice so she could ski with her Father. I know first hand it's almost a $1,000 for the week. -
I can't wait to see where this goes! After all, your last big build was flat-out amazing. This should be stellar at the very least! Love watching your work, thank you for sharing.

5.5 million dollars was just paid for the LM Porsche 917 Can Am car. Rarity has no price ceiling, they're always going go be highly desirable. While 2.5 will make parts of your body pucker, it's probably not far off from what it's worth for what it is. This is Americas version a Bugatti Atlantic, Auto Union racer, or a blower Bentley. This will always be desirable as a piece of automotive history. Provided it actually is what's advertised as. While some paint flaking & fluid seepage would be normal due to its age, let's not be delusional and expect to see it as nice as the over-restored show-poodles we're accustomed to.

I love the subtle look. Beautiful dark color, low key wheels, perfect stance. But the mini tubs are a really nice touch, it greatly adds to the look. And top it off with the Hemi hood scoop.... wow. Nice build!
