  1. Well it definately sprayed and looked better in the cooler low humidity. Will be more favorable conditions tomorrow.
  2. This was my first time using Duplicolor so I have no experience factor. The first can I got I returned because it was sputtering and squirting out the paint and dripping every where.
  3. So yesterday with temp around 75-78 degrees and mid 30 humidity I sprayed '57 Chevy Duplicolor Mica and got a beautiful smooth shiny finish but I forgot to spray the trunk lid. So today, temp about 80 and humidity around 55 , I sprayed the trunk lid and it dries out flat. I can only assume its the slightly higher temp and humidity but good lord I can't believe that slight deviation can make that much of a difference. Anyone else experience this??
  4. Phew!!!!!!! I didn't think I'd get you guys' this involved but I appriciate the enthusiasm. Thanks very much.
  5. Excellent work there Eric!! Great details. Love Tri-5 builds.
  6. Ya know, I didn't realize that in all my years as a car enthusiast.?
  7. Great insight there Bill. I'm pretty sure most of us on here are a bit OCD about things (at least I am).?
  8. I owned a real one for a while, the 4 cyl Turbo, Black with red velour buckets and 5-speed. What a fun, comfortable and amazingly peppy car.
  9. You "master" model car builders ROCK!!! I'm always in awe of the precision work you guys' do Looking awesome Claude on another of my favorites, the bubble top '61. I'll be watching.
  10. Well thats simple enough, Thanks Bill.
  11. I got yhe same thing.
  12. To continue on with this topic, what is the formula for reducing a full size 1:1 of a part down to the different scales. Lets say for example a 14" wheel to 1/25 scale.
  13. I did but what is the kit. I can't find it anywhere.
  14. Really can't see any issues there, looks fine.
  15. I need the "formal" roof line Regal. Is there a model available like it? Owned one back in the day, was silver and I put Cragers on it. Loved the look.
  16. Yep Gerald, great looking full size big block Chevy.?
  17. Oops, forgot to compliment you on that great looking Caddy.
  18. You piqued my interest in the HOLBEIN acrylic paint so I looked it up. I see several different compounds. Which did you use Michael??
  19. You guys' make some good points here. I'm wondering too about aftermarket parts size discrepencies.
  20. Thanks JC, I'm gonna check them out.
  21. Wanting 911 series car.
  22. Loving these cool Porsche's. The only Porsche build I did was probably 45 years ago (can you tell I'm old LOL). I'm gonna do another one and would like a recommendation for a moderately priced racy looking but not all out racer. What suggestions ya got??
  23. Very nice build to the best looking Riv. As far as the custom wheel comment, to each his own and I respect that, but custom wheels are not a problem, but the extreme oversize look is probably the issue.
  24. Mike, I have to agree with you on the fact that some kits and parts aren't actually to true scale.
  25. Don't know if there has been a discussion about this but here goes. My main question here is the difference between 1/24 and 1/25 scale. I know 1/24 is bigger than 1/25 but by how much for actual parts. I find 1/24 engines are too big in a 1/25 kit. Also, engine parts don't seem accurately compatible. One case in point is wanted to use tunnel ram intake from 1/24 '57 Chevy kit on 1/25 '57 Chevy engine. Manifold is too long. And how about tire size differences, particularly aftermarket. Anyway, interested in comments.
