  1. Thinning could be the key and I'm sure the brush type can also make a difference. I have a lot of small brushes of different materials and some do seem to have different results. I may have to start thinning even more but when you get too thin the paint doesn't cover very well.
  2. Good to know and yes Hobby Lobby with the 40% off is a great money saver.
  3. Thanks Les, I'm just wondering now if the Wicked Color line would be just as good. I'm looking at the Pearl Orange (for Tamiya 911GT2 Club Sport and and the Gold for 70 Cutlass (to replicate a car I owned).
  4. Wondering if anyone on here has sprayed the Createx Auto Air line of paint??

    '65 GTO

    Yep, nice one Roger.☝️
  6. Worth a try but I have found on larger surface areas you still see strokes. Maybe thinning would have helped. I still like using acrylic though because if you mess up it's easily wiped off. Thanks for comment.
  7. Cool stuff there David☝️
  8. Let me begin by saying I so far have painted the bodies and undercarriages on the majority of my a few more than a dozen or so of my builds with rattlecan store bought paint (usually Krylon). But I have painted most of the suspension parts, interiors and miscellaneous items with brushes using easy cleanup and mistake correcting acrylic. That being said, is there any solution to avoiding the dreaded brush strokes. Recommended brushes, paints, thinning??
  9. Wow Ron, what a gathering of great looking cars!! Would be hard to pick a favorite there.
  10. Amazing work Charlie; what scale is the Vette and what is the body color??
  11. Looks like thats gonna be a fun paint job with all those odd shapes.
  12. I don't know how to put a previous post in the reply, but to NXR, wanted to let you know resinrealm.com, Star Models, has a 4 Dr '57 Sedan resin body.
  13. You got the motherload there Tom. Wow I got for my birthday today from my Wife the Tamiya GT2 Porsche Road Version and some modeling tools I needed. Will be my first Porsche build; looking forward to getting started.
  14. Welcome Ron, as a fairly recent member this place is addictive!!!
  15. Thats gonna be quite accomplishment to get that model looking good but I know you will do it Les. Will be watching.
  16. I have two of the "Black Widow" kits, one the original and one re-issue. Both are base 150's.
  17. Looks like it's gonna be mean machine LOL!! Will be following.
  18. Very nice, I like that you didn''t overdo the damage on the Chevelle and the simplicity of the Camaro?☝️
  19. Looking good, that dash looks great!!!
  20. Ohhh that poor TA? But I do love what you did there, pretty amazing work Mark.
  21. Glad you commented "espo" George, now I feel better about getting the "New imoproved" version. I hate to mess up applications. My skills may not be all that great but I know I can do a better job foiling than with this ultra chrome stuff. .
  22. Got it. Thanks Brian. Now I gotta buy a new sheet and quit using the ultra unless maybe for small details.
  23. Good to know, but I'm wondering how the original 001 Chrome differs from the "New and Improved" version. Is the new and improved actually better!!!!!!
  24. According to BMF website they now sell 001 Chrome and 004 Ultra Bright Chrome. On Ebay many of the listings say "new and improved" . So what the heck is the original BMF??
  25. So if I understand you correctly Peter, The regular chrome is better to work with than the ultra chrome?? A couple hours ago I tried foiling the chrome side trim on the '57 Chevy model and it gave me fits. I did a much better job when I used on regular chrome on a previous '57.
