  1. Also, maybe limit the number of pictures of each model build.
  2. Don't understand the "tag" thing. And yes, for example, All completed Tri-5 Chevies, All completed Willy's. etc. Just a thought FWIW.
  3. Dave, I noticed today a few "show us your" threads concerning a certain finished model group of cars. I was thinking maybe there could be a new section added to the forum that would group these threads into one section. I just think it would be better so they would'nt be spread around in the WIP section . What ya think?
  4. Very nice, another great paint job. I don't understand the "stain" thing though.
  5. Good to know JC, thanks. I'm pretty anxious to get started on it but a couple other builds are ahead of it.
  6. Looking great JC, looking forward to future work. Got my first Porsche model kit (911 GT2 Road) a few weeks back but haven't got started on it yet so I like tolook at these Porsche builds as reference.
  7. Channeled styrene red - now theres another great suggestion Michael.
  8. Good suggestion there Josh.
  9. In most cases too on non-post hardtops, there is chrome trim on the verticle forward end.
  10. Porsche 356 heaven. Quite a stash there Anders.
  11. Man I know what you mean about the wheels. My favorites are the 5 spokes (Crager and Torque Thrust) and my stash has dwindled. I'm needing a set for the Cutlass I'll be building.
  12. Very nice looking Impala. Bubble top '61 is to me the nicest looking 60's Impala. I did the Nicholson drag car version and enjoyed the build.
  13. Very pretty color, nice work.
  14. Well Snake, as for the GTO, I'm far from the accomplished model builder that a lot of guys' on here are, but that paint looks pretty thick so that's where the resto starts in my humble opinion. Day two is definately in the cards for that one!!
  15. Are you working on that model now Jeff?
  16. I guess I kind of assumed the kits are the GeeTooTiger kits, maybe I was wrong.
  17. I have had one of the GeeTooTiger kits for quite a while and really look forward to WIP posts on this one. The paint scheme on these cars is quite unique as the drivers side is different then the passenger side. As I'm sure you already know Dan as far as the real car is concerened, in addition to the original 1:1 car back in "the day" there is a later version.
  18. I sure hope so, did'nt get to try today, decided to work on the '57 Chevy Gasser engine I'm working on.
  19. As far as the wheels on this build, won't need stock as I'm building it as I modified it in '71 with what I think I remember ( that was a long time ago and I have no pics) were either Crager or Torque Thrust 5-spokes. This car did come with poverty caps and Fireball Model makes a replica of them. Hmmm, I wonder if thats what I need to do.
  20. There seems to be a bit of a Maverick cult here LOL!! Seriously tho, looks great!!!!!!!!
  21. Looks pretty darn nice to me (as are all your models) Tim.?
  22. Thanks guys, gotta get out to the garage and try your suggestions. I have a compresser (Harbor Freight) with a tank but I used the old tankless Campbell Hauseman compressor yesterday with my experiments.
  23. "DITTO"???!!!!!!!!
  24. It does have a number 5 needle. I'm assuming higher pressure with the thicker paint too. The compressor I was using is a tankless one but as I said the pressure kept bleeding off quickly.
  25. Finally made my trip to Hobby Lobby and of course they didn't have the gold I wanted in the Wicked Color line so I just picked up the one in the picture. With my limited air brush experience and other issues not withstanding, I was able to spray a number of spoons after spraying them with various rattle can primers. The biggest difference is in the spoon just to the right of the paint bottle. It's clearly the lighest (it was sprayed over Krylon white primer). The color definatetly varies by the shade of primer. I sprayed one over gloss black(the 2d one from the right) and it is darker than the rest. My conclusion?? Well, I'm still on the fence on what to do about the paint. I can't honestly say any one of the samples is the right color. Also, Using my Paasche H airbrush wasn't a particularly good experience. I had trouble getting any consistant flow, maybe (or probably) because the air pressure would pretty quickly bleed off from the 25 psi. Gonna take me a long time to get this right. Oh, and as I'm sure you can tell, no clear on anof the spoons.
