  1. Just getting back to you here Dave, didn't realize you posted here last night. It just feels grainy, the only way I can describe it. It actually looks OK with the exception of a couple of bubble or dirt specks. I guess I was expecting a smoother finish. Another thing is it seems to me that since it has cured out that the color is lighter. Was thinking a few more coats would darken it and maybe I would get lucky and not have any debris in it. There are no emblems to worry about build-up. As always, thanks for your reply.
  2. Ha, one of those days!!!! Accomplished some on my '57 Chevy Street Gasser and then total frustration set in. Installed the tinted windows, firewall and then went to mate the body to the chassis and it all went to BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH from there. Can't get it to go all the way, messed up one photo etch trim piece, knocked off another and lost it (lesson learned don't install these pieces until last), Knocked off the firewall and the whole engine. Soooo close to boxing it all up for a lonnnnng while??? Tghanks for listening to my rant?
  3. Maybe, or I'm thinking about a good steel wool "sanding" and a bit more of the Createx. As I said earlier, I'm probably overthinking this.
  4. Well, I just don't know. Sounds daunting?
  5. One weekend??? Beautiful, that interior looks great, perfect sheen on the "leather" seats.
  6. So did it come off fairly easy??
  7. Rick, I'll take that '66 kit off your hands if you can do without it LOL. They are rarer then hens teeth!!!!!
  8. Kind of a tough decision for me on this one. But it seems all MY decisions are tough. Maybe I overthink too much?
  9. Hi Mike.  I really don't know if it will fit, wonder if it is 1/25 or 1/24 scale. I guess it could make a difference.

  10. Not sure I have it in me to tackle stripping all that paint off. Just getting the paint off the hood was a chore tho I didn't use the "purple pond" method.
  11. OK all you Guys' who have chimed in on this lengthy thread I started with your opinions and suggestions I think I have come to a drastically different conclusion. After beating the Createx subject to death and looking long and hard at my Cutlass paint job, I've pretty much decided to go the Scalefinishes route. I just don't like the look and feel of the finish and really don't want to clear it and have to deal with removing it if it still doesn't look good enough for me. So my next question, can I spray the Scalefinishes base over the Createx acrylic (after sanding of course or steel wooling) or should I reprime it over the Createx?? I know there will be some interesting comments so bring it on LOL.
  12. Wow, some super cool stuff there.
  13. Darn cool looking car, what a sleeper it would make with a LS6 454.
  14. ElCamino looks nice Sam and good color, what paint (type and brand) is it?
  15. Some great looking and to say the least unusual cars. For me, WTH is the deal with the raised hood on that Cutlass??
  16. Thanks Jim, was actually able to successfully airbrush the tint on the .15 Acrylic sheet and the back glass. Model Master Transparent.
  17. Not a pickup guy but thats a way cool looking truck?
  18. Good to know Dave. The guage is new and liquid filled so it won't wobble. I still think I wasn't payng attention to the pressure after the first release of air.
  19. Very nice bigcat Tim, beautiful color. ?
  20. "10/4" Dave. I'm thinking I was only paying attention to the initial pressure drop so most likely it was only dropping a very small amount while spraying. I still haven't figured out how to get a good thinning mix although I did try some Folkart black enamel craft paint mixing it with the Createx 4012 and 4030 and got a darn smooth finish on a spoontest. It actually dried to a slightly shiny finish, maybe a more than satin. Unfortunately the weather here south of Nashville for net week is about to go downhill, highs in the mid to 30's so no painting in the garage next week. As alwaysl, I look forward to your comments my friend.
  21. Ahhh, someone finally built a late model COPO Camaro, Looks awesome Glen?
  22. Looks great Johnny, interesting color tho??
  23. Very well done Wylde, I like it?
  24. Was a big fan of NASCAR (would'nt miss a race on TV and went to Bristol and Talledega) but its been several years since I've seen a race. The cars, the new generation of drivers, the rules just have no appeal any longer for me. It's a farce. RIP our families' favorite driver, Davey Allison.
  25. The recent BMF I recieved was the same way (tho maybe not that bad) so probably so. Mine flatened out with gentle pressure.
