(HRM) Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe
Venom replied to Venom's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
Thanks Mark, I felt like I was coming down with something the past couple days, but seem to be starting to feel more normal again, so I haven’t really accomplished anything since last pics. Last night I did attempt to button up the plug wires, only to have two more snap off?... they are now reattached, plus I guess I did accomplish getting one more halfway on. These wires have been about ten times more difficult than the ones on my 427 Cobra were! Ive continued to check in on your Corvette...I like all the cool fabrications you’ve been doing. Nice work? -

Thanks for including Shasta...she’s a beautiful cat!? And thanks for the hard work you do helping keep this great site stable. It is a privilege to be here.

This topic makes me smile.

I’m not sure if they do the Tamiya line or not, but I’ve ordered AutoAir Colors from spraygunner.com in Florida a couple times and have been blown away by how fast I’ve recieved my order in WY.

Thanks Roger. I can see it well enough to get the idea. I think I’ll make one of those as well.?

Interesting that you mention the mountain lion...also my favorite wildcat. I took this pic last summer on the backside of our nearby mountain about 10 miles from town. Was in a very isolated canyon area on my mountain bike. We have a lot of them around here as they have a lot of space for their solitary needs. There were also baby cat tracks, but didn’t want to spend too much time crawling around on my hands and knees.☠️ Funny thing, as much time as I’ve spent way back off the beaten path, I’ve never seen a wildcat, only tracks. I will check out the documentary you mentioned... sounds very interesting. Thanks for mentioning it.

Can it get any cleaner than this? I don’t think so...WOW! P E R F E C T !

Wow Cosmo, are you still on this site? I just stumbled across your avitar and was checking you out... These are really fantastic looking cars! The Vette and the sedan are remarkably realistic looking. I don’t know if it is even possible to do crumple damage any more realistic than that, and though I know nothing of the GTO kit, it is really beautifully done! I mean, beautiful work man!!!

Bill, I was just looking through your build (without descriptions) on your Fotki link and I will say that your work is marvelous! The engine, undercarriage, door and trunk hinges, all some of the finest work I’ve ever seen...You are an exceptional craftsman Sir! Yes, I will also go through the link you posted for that build on this forum so I can read the pic descriptions... Thank you, and keep on keepin’ on brother?

Thanks, I just edited my previous post which mentions that

Thanks everyone! I went ahead and ordered the Trumpeter as Bill and Rich mentioned. I’ve gotten by without a scriber for so long that this one should be just what I need. I like the simplicity, and smaller contoured look of it better than the Tamiya. I just watched a video on the #11 blade trick...essentially just creating a burr on the back side of the tip, so I think I’ll make one of those also. Rodger if you’re seeing this I’d like to know how you modified your dental pick since I have a few of those around. Thanks

That’s great! Yes it’s so rewarding to see them do a complete turnaround. When a cat shows its teeth at you and lunges and hisses and throws claws, a lot of people’s tendency is to hate them or be afraid, but it’s just that they are the ones who are truly afraid, so you have to prove you’re their friend... I guess that would be the case with any feral animal.

Please recommend for me a good scribing tool. I want one that is good for the door and trunk lines etc. on 1/24 models. I was about to buy a Tamiya line scriber, but in reading the description, it sounded like it was more suited for cutting through plastic rather than enhancing lines. Thanks!

Welcome Chaz. I’m still pretty new here myself, but can tell you it is an excellent resource for learning things and there are a lot of kind and helpful people here. Reguarding paint, it is possible to achieve top notch results with rattle can paint, but do not underestimate the many benefits of a quality airbrush.

Several years ago I worked at an animal shelter. One of the cats that was there since I began looked just like yours and she was as mean as could be and was feral...Molly was her name. After I was there a couple months I decided to see if I could get her to trust humans. Each day I’d spend about 15 minutes sitting quietly beside her cage. After a couple days of that I would do it with her cage door open. After a few days of that I would do it with my arm inside the edge of her cage and so on. After about a month I was able to pick her up and hold her, and rather than being in an isolated cage she could mingle in a room with several other cats. I felt pretty good about it. Nice looking cat by the way, thanks for sharing!
