46 City Chevrolet or DOT 1969
ABNSPR replied to ABNSPR's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Thank you Larry. -
Yup, I am officially obsessed with the DOT cars. I had several decal sheets left over from the original kit and thought what the heck when this kit got rereleased. Now I wonder what it would look like pink and white, or orange and blue or black and green? AMT (round 2) kit, original monogram kit decals (clear coat added), Tamiya paint, swapped out the drag slicks for PPP tires and wheels, otherwise box stock.

Thank you for posting this. I just finished my first body using craft paint and airbrush for the first time, because of seeing this post. Huge MM fan and always liked this car even if it does turn into the pits one lap early...for some crazy reason. -

Very nice. Just got one of these and PPP tires and wheels in yesterday. -
Thank you. I was trying to reignite my desire for the hobby and it was a good kit to try to do that with since it is so simple.

Georgia state patrol impala, Mississippi Hwy Monaco, some near finished cruisers

Beautiful real police cars. Big engines, BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH gas mileage and radios that were just cb’s. -
The land whale. Most comfortable and fastest police car I ever drove. So long as it had the LS1 engine. Fun fact, mine was so old that there was literally a hole through the floorboard from boot heel wear. Sucked on rainy days. Looks good and brings back some good memories. Got to train with the RCMP once, great bunch of people.

Looks real good and the Smokey/Ricky tribute paint job is spot on. -
As always, thank you for the kind words.

Yeah that’s pretty awesome right there. -
Lindbergh snap kit, detail paint only via Sharpie and Tamiya, I forget who made the decals, but they are very good decals. Total project probably took 1-2 hours.

So I found a couple of models I did during my hiatus from the hobby. I contend that these did not end my hiatus as they are military police cars, snap kits that I only detail painted and other than the light bars I think I used Sharpies exclusively to do the painting. Revell kit, Sharpie and Tamiya for paint and I don’t remember who made the decals, but they are outstanding quality.

Neil was one of my favorites and this was one of the coolest liveries ever. I think it would still hold up today. Outstanding job. -
Thank you Sir.

Thank you. Since I rattle can Tamiya really is the only way to go. It is idiot proof as I have heard others say, but I test this theory regularly.

Very nice. I gave up on petty car paint jobs in my early days. Yours is spot on.
