  1. Exactly as I suspected! Thus my "art" comment. But I also wonder if the ideal design tries to keep all pipes to similar lengths? The plumbing to the front chamber(s) will be longer than the pipes to the rear chambers, so they perhaps compensate with more bends to the rear cylinders? BTW, on a related note, I finally purchased some solid core solder yesterday. I thought it would be listed in millimeters, but all were in standard. I bought a roll of 3/32". Looking forward to doing my own pipes & heads.
  2. Are you referring to the turbo plumbing?
  3. Why can't they just weld pipe to the flange, even at an angle, to get from point A to point B as straight as possible? I guess I don't understand why some of the shapes seems more elaborate then needed. How much of this is done for other reasons? Perhaps audio tone? Back pressure? In theory, couldn''t the exhaust header start w/ 4 pipes into a funnel shape, tapering down to one pipe? Might not look good, just wondering why some pipes do big loops, other pipes don't. Is there a science to it? BTW, I am referring to non-turbo setups.
  4. LoL! When you posted "Lil Yeller", I first thought of... ...which is of course not correct. That would be "Ol' Yellar". No kit of that, I suspect. Is this what you refer to? That would be a very old tool. I built one as a kid; I can barely remember one hour ago, so I cannot help you on kit details. There were several different versions of that show rod kitted; the drivetrains (what there is of it) look similar.
  5. Something to note- these pipes could be viewed as works of art. Well, at least by car guys. To bend; shape; construct, and weld these steel snakes into a functional finished product is kinda cool. So, how on earth do they know how to shape the pipes like that? What is the guiding principal to all the twists and bends?
  6. First, get a bigger tank...
  7. Bob Dudek. I believe he goes by the name "BobDude" here.
  8. Yeah! I rate this thread... 100% worthy! Thanks!

Looks good. Real good! Don't forget those side marker lights need color. A fine-tip Sharpie could do the job on the red lights.
  10. Happy Birthday, George! What's your set of wheels?
  11. Wow... it only took me a year to notice this question... No, not two tires. That is (iirc) the rears from the Willys kit. I did sand the tread, but that seam still shows. It's not that obvious in person... I think.
  12. Way cool stuff, Doc! I need to try some ideas. BTW, you may want to see if you could use a color other than white for the text in your videos, some of it got lost due to background color & lighting. Hope you keep making more vids!
  13. Got to love a Ferrari in a wild color scheme. Great job! Painting the white vs. depending on the decals was a good move.
  14. That was created back a ways, from their "Yeah, whatever" series. I think half of their employees back then took the job thinking they would be working with the other, more "leggy" type of models.
  15. What Darin said. Pin that!
  16. Another out of the park home run, Lyle!
  17. Better still! Mother Nature helped you out on this one, and it worked!
  18. Awesome build, Curt! Not going to see too many other Lotus Indy cars out there!
  19. Thanks for sharing the album, Terry!
  20. Not only should the bashin’ stop, I would like to see the Model Cars Message Board become the #1 bar-none best model car web site, PERIOD! That won’t happen if there are these constant nipple-twisting contests here. We need more content- and more participants- to make that happen. I strongly suspect that some builders on the other model hobby boards are tired of the shenanigans they deal with on their usual boards; we won’t be able to draw them over to our Model Cars Board, if this nonsense is going on. So lets start showing some pride around here! Maybe we can attract more people, and in turn we all benefit with more posts. More models in “Under Glassâ€. More ideas in “Tips, Tricks, and Tutorialsâ€. More trucks… more drag cars… more stock cars… more big scale… more everything! EXCEPT the complaining… we DON’T need more of that.
  21. I would imagine that Del is there. That sounds like the description of Del Paone's Shelby. He had the factory stripes removed, iirc.
  22. It's a risk I'm willing to take.
  23. Drive there in reverse.
  24. More weird stuff... Now for something really racy!
