  1. Looks great, Walt! That's an 'all business' coupe!
  2. So... um, the fact that I just made several plates... for FREE, with name and state matched to some of the earlier ppl posting in this thread... has been lost on everyone? I mean, I did that to show just how flippin' EASY it is to make plates!!! Sorry, I don't do gift wrapping.
  3. Here is my version:
  4. You are off to a good start! Looks right.
  5. More twice-built! In front of my second frame, is the bulkhead to mount my rear suspension, also scratched. Unfortunately, the first set of trailing arms had too much angle, The arm to frame would have been too close to the driveshaft. The second set of trailing arms sits outboard... Rear suspension not glued in place... I still need to come up with some rear coil-overs, and a panard bar. Front axle will be from the Revell '32 Ford... scratch-built trailing links. But the engine? Still not 100% sure. No motor mounts on the frame yet. On the bench, a 390 HP Thunderbird mill from the '34 Ford pickup kit. Kind of so-so on that, would like to stay Ford. Any ideas?
  6. Here comes the fix...
  7. Here is some plates I just churned out @: http://www.acme.com/licensemaker/ Most states @ ACME have several designs per state. I am not sure if the Canadian Provinces are available, but worth a look anyhow.
  8. Why not just make a licence plate with your name on it? Great for street cars. Just go to a web site like ACME Platemaker, or Google "make your own licence plate"; pick a state, add your name to it. You could print it out on regular paper, but for best results, buy semi gloss photo paper. Of course, it helps to have a printer... they are common enough. Here is one plate blank: I didn't make the following... I think I found them on the web. Personalized plates make a great 'signature' for a model!
  9. Almost finished? LoL! WHY do ppl do that? J/K! Looks darn nice! I like the suttle weathering. Good job. Now go glue on those mirrors, or we'll send the flying monkeys over to deal with ya.
  10. Jeez! I had the 'Little Deuce'... complete in box... like maybe just ten years ago. I traded it away like a dummy. I was really into GT40's at the time, and I got several built-up junkers for it. The guy said he really wanted it... but what he wanted it for was to sell or trade with another guy we both knew.
  11. When you see the big 'mail slot' across the middle of the block to accomodate the metal axle, you know there are compromises. Man, looking at the pics of the parts... takes me back!
  12. I tried it. Now the wife has me in the doghouse... I don't know why she is ticked about the big square hole in the sofa cushion. Nobody ever sits there anyhow.
  13. You are on to something there! She's gonna look fine!
  14. What exactly are your "seat belts"? I don't want to be rude, but I don't understand the two loops of ribbon per seat.
  15. More updates: BUILD EVERYTHING TWICE! That way it takes longer. After all the work in the frame, the end result seems too short in the front. I must have screwed it up when I "Z'd" the frame. So, I will make an all new frame Everytime I draw a pattern, the second one comes out larger than the first. So this time, I will try a 'negative' or reverse pattern. I drew out the width and other guides on paper for the frame. Here is the start for the 'X' frame. More later... unless I pop a head gasket, and pulverize the whole thing
  16. This is going to be sooo nice when done! Going with stock or aftermarket wheels?
  17. WOW! It's the ultra-rare AbortoMatic 3000!
  18. What I found: Plastruct, Inc. 1020 South Wallace Place City of Industry, CA 91748 Phone: 626.912.7016 Fax: 626.965.2036 Toll Free: 800.666.7015 Mon - Thurs 7:30 to 4:00 Pacific Time Email: plastruct@plastruct.com Is this the same info you have? You may need to try snail mail. Best of luck.
  19. I haven't built the kit; and I have also heard the same thing about it. If the doors are a problem, just glue them shut. The weak link with vintage kits with opening doors, most of them have no door jamb, nor any lip for the door to rest against. The result is a visible gap that lets light pass through. I have a few pics of other's A-100 builds, at this page... http://public.fotki.com/JCole/model_car_shows/misc_model_contests/page31.html ...and the following page. For L-700 builds... http://public.fotki.com/JCole/model_car_shows/misc_model_contests/page37.html BTW, a tip of the hat to Lindberg for really knowing how to milk the tooling for this kit!
  20. Thanks, Harry. I just called; no muss, no fuss.
  21. Finally recieved # 155 a few days ago. Somewhat mutilated, but at least nothing is missing. I guess I can read it as is, but I've lost interest in it as a result. I will try again later.
  22. Are any of these kits involved? They are some of what your descrip made me think of...
  23. The photo will be properly labelled as faux.
