Zippi replied to Limeyglue's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That's a bad Boy right there. Really kewl mods and paint job. -
Thanks. I think so too. Just brings out more detail. Nice find for $20 and looks good.
-
Thanks. You might be right.
-
Well, I have decided to build the 1:18 scale. Just did a little clean up and mocked it up to get a better look at what I have to work with.
-
Nice choice. Your going to love it.
-
That's a good looking color on the 57 Chrysler Ken.
-
That yellow looks pretty nice Scott. Yeah, that 2k clear will make it shine like a new penny.
-
Looking at the body this morning I wasn't satisfied with how the fenders looked at the rear so some body work was required.

Wowser...what a Super sharp build Craig. Love the color and stance and this Gentelman. -
I'm really diggin the color combo. Sweet looking.
-
Hey Bob. No, this is the kit engine. Never had any issues with the Tamiya Primer.
-
Thanks Chris. I'm off to a good start.
-
You bet. I purchased the .stl file and have the Uncertain T printed out in 1:24, 1:25, and 1:18 scale.
-
Love the black and red. Nicely built 66 GTO.
-
Yup, looking pretty good there Steve.
-
That's a mighty fine looking 66 GTO. Nicely done.
-
I appreciate it Buddy. It does look like and old Ford Sedan. The body is going to be the same deep blue as the engine.
-
It's straight out of the can Greg. I think I'll let this dry really good and give it another coat before I do anything else.
-
I primed the engine with Tamiya Gray Surface Primer then hit it with the TS-53 Deep Metallic Blue. It's hard to see in the pics but the blue paint wants to pull away from the edges. I've seen this happen with their red paint before. Tow coats of primer and 3 coats of the topcoat. Not sure If I want to use this paint now.
-
Paint looks pretty sweet and the whitewalls are looking the part.
-
I got the parting lines and flash cleaned up and threw some primer on to see what I missed. The top looks good but the front fenders need a little more sanding.
-
Thanks Phil. I hear ya man. It took me a while to buy a 3D printer and did a ton of research before I picked which one to buy. It's a game changer.

Step by Step box-stock build of the Monogram Uncertain T:
Zippi replied to tim boyd's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I did and thanks Tim. I now have the Uncertain T printed out in 1:24, 1:25, and 1:18 scale. I'll be building one of these kits later this Summer. -
Thanks man. I just wasn't sure until I did the mock-up. Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. I appreciate it. Looking from the back looks a little odd to me but, the more I look at it the more I like it. Maybe a fresh look at it when I go out in the garage this morning will put a different perspective on it. Yeah, it is a bit cozy in the business end. The engine choice is still up in the air at this point. Just haven't got to it yet.
