  1. Thanks Dan. I can always paint spoons nicely. When it comes to the body something happens. I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst.
  2. Welcome to the playhouse Lei. Bunch of good ol boys here with a lot of knowledge to share.
  3. A Hemi works for me Dave.
  4. Thanks Buddy.
  5. Thanks james. I did a spoon test and I'm going with the Tamiya TS-30 Silver Leaf base coat then TS-74 Clear Red over the Silver Leaf. I'm going with the darker color on the right. That is two coats of the Clear Red vs one coat on the left.
  6. Thanks a bunch Chris.
  7. It's 66° and the humidity is 32% so I decided to get the body in primer and get the chassis painted. Turned out pretty good.
  8. Thanks Steve. Much appreciated.
  9. Thanks Ed. Well, I you have to be a modeler to get through that one ☺
  10. Really like the color and those wheels & tires look pretty kewl. Nice job.

Mustangs always look good. Nice job on the stripes. Great job.
  12. That green looks pretty nice James. Great start.
  13. Good start on that 57 Buddy. That base coat looks like it layed down nicely. I'll be watching.
  14. Just a beautiful looking Riviera. Those were big cars back in the day. Great looking color. Very nicely done.
  15. Well Mario.....it was worth the wait. Very nice looking Mercury. That black looks great. Nice job.
  16. Good information Joe. Thanks.
  17. Hey James. You'll probably pass me on the build as this one will be slow. The wife has me painting the bathroom.
  18. Thanks for the info Dennis. I really want to keep the radiator on the back side of the support if at all possible but, we'll see how it goes.
  19. Like Brian mentioned, it may be what your painting and not the paint. What are you actually painting?
  20. I found this video about the history of AMT. I've also read somewhere that some early model kits came with the Kat inside. Anybody know which kits that might be? I have purchased one of the AMT Kat's off eBay. Excited to get this one. AMT model company history - YouTube
  21. This is the BB that will be going in the 55. If I spin the radiator and support around I can just get the engine in without the fan. This way I could run a dual fan setup since there is more room on that side of the radiator.
  22. I haven't had a lot of bench time on the 55 but this morning I'm trying to work out some problems with the engine fitment. As you can see in the pic, I'm going to have to pull off the fan and maybe shave down the bottom belt pulley. I've pulled a radiator (from the 56 Ford Foose pickup) from the parts box and cut out the two electric fans that I can use. If I have to spin the radiator and put it in front of the radiator mount I'm going to use two fans. Otherwise I'll just use on since there is not enough room on that side of the radiator.
  23. Boy that just looks so sharp. That red paint job is killer. Nice work.
  24. That's a good looking 55 old school Stocker. I like the look.
  25. Good looking Gasser there Chad. That green looks mighty fine.
