*1960 Ford Ranchero*
Zippi replied to Zippi's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I got out the airbrush today and sprayed the Ranchero. Not sure what happened but it was a disaster. It was 53 degrees and the humidity was at 49%. The finish come out looking like and orange. I sprayed it the same way I sprayed the 34 Ford Modified in red so not sure what happened. Could have been the weather I guess. I did get one bank of the engine (I'm calling it a 302) wired. I may have to wait til Spring to do any more airbrushing. -

Me to Kyle. I like to be a little different. I built this one (box Stock) earlier this year and when I started this project I got to thinking about this one. -
Tamiya TS65 Pearl Clear questions
Zippi replied to bh1701's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have a 56 Ford truck I'm painting flat white and was thinking of using the TS65 Pearl Clear. Anybody have a pic of this Pearl Clear over flat white? -

Thanks Kyle. Right now the body is in the Purple Pond. I did some research and I have choosen a new color. I'm thinking about a flat white with a clear pearl on top of that. All the bumpers and trim will be black or gunmetal. Somthing along the lines of the 56 in the pics. -
That was rough at the start Snake but what a turn around. Looking good.

Nice looking Hiboy Alan. My wife gave me one of her Very soft facual brushes that she uses (an excuse to buy a new one I guess) and I use that to brush off the dust before I take pics. I think our models are dust magnets because by the time I take pics I see dust again. Once again....good looking Hiboy and nice color.

Tamiya Nismo R34 Gt-R Z-Tune (first car build)
Zippi replied to super_average_gunpla's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Not my style of car to build but boy that looks pretty sharp. Should be a nice build. Those Tamiya kits just looks so nice and the packaging is second to known. I'll be keeping an eye on this build. -
Love the Gassers. Find yourself a straight axle (watch the 24" height limit from the center of the crank) for up front and get some wheely bars out the back.

The final color red looks great.

Good looking Plymouth. That Hugger orange looks really nice. Very clean looking engine bay.

Thanks James. Just put the body in the purple haze. Probably take a week to strip it since it has enamel on it. -

Got the body in primer today. It was 48 degrees and the humidity was 42%. All went well. I have plans of spraying the topcoat tomorrow as it's supposed to be around 55 degrees, sunshine, and very little wind. -

Got a couple tubes cut out today. Total time was about an hour. The sanding is what took so long. Turned out pretty good. -

It is fun isn't it James. I have the 65 as well. I'd really like to get ahold of the 1951 Henry J Gasser new release from Revell
