  1. Thanks for you comment TopherMcGinnis I'm a bit of a fan of the Deuce also, I have several in the stash and I am also working on a 32 Vicky that I intend to finish up after concentrating on getting this one finished
  2. Chassis body mock up
  3. The chassis components consist of the original kit chassis, the front axle is from the parts box. The rear axle is the kit axle widened and will eventually be converted with a quick change center To get the stance right the front cross member was modified with the spring perch and axle assembly moved forwards sections of styrene tube were added to the rear of the radius rods to resemble bushes. The choice of wheel for this model are Artillery style supplied by The Parts Box
  4. The tonneau cover was fashioned from styrene and a hinge line scribed along the front edge. The gap along the top of the dash was also filled with body filler as was the indentation in the center of the dash
  5. It is my intention to build this model as a 2 seater with a tonneau cover/hard lid covering the rear half of the body. this necessitates shortening up the interior tub. The floor and back of the tub was constructed with styrene. Door lines were scribed and patterned sytrene added to the top of the doors to mimic leather door trims the inside of the body tub was lubed up with vasilene and body filler was added to the top outside of the interior tub, the two were mated together and when the body filler had cured the two sections were separated and cleaned up. This gives a perfect no gap fit of the tub to the body.
  6. I stripped the paint from the model as the color scheme I chose back then didn't appeal anymore and I have started all over again. The model is the AMT 1932 Ford Phaeton and as I stated was released in the mid 1980's. there was the option to build it fully fendered and that is how this build started off but my ideas have changed and the fenders are now in the parts box and the body will now be channeled over the chassis requiring a new floor pan that I have fashioned from styrene . I also filled the door lines for the rear doors and re-scribed new lines for the front doors making them longer. I have also chosen to delete the cowl vent.
  7. Firstly I would just like to take a moment to introduce myself as this is my second post ever on this forum. I am a 60 year old male who from 6 years old through to my early 20s spent a lot of time building model cars, mainly hot rods. Life got in the way and I moved on to other things, always had a stash of models and have continued to buy kits as they came out but have never really found the time to build anything but have recently dusted of a kit that i started back in the 80's when it was new but never really like the kit.
  8. It's interesting I have been looking for a set of wires for a future project and I have several sets of these on hand and never rated them until I saw them on your build. It has made me realise that they are a good choice for wires.
  9. Pleased to see you went back to the wires much but better choice
  10. awesome work very nice clean execution of the chassis modes
  11. Amazing work I love the technique you have used to simulate the leather on the seats. So you paint the base cover then just dab the secondary color on with a paper towel? Ive been playing around with dry brushing the simulate leather on a 32 Phaeton I.m currently building but I like the look you have achieved better
  12. Mock up of AMT 32 Ford Phaeton. Various parts box and scratch built bits Engine is kit block modified to take Monogram Snake ( Prudhomme rail ) heads and blower
  13. I think you are doing an outstanding job. looks great so far
