This is a really nice kit, parts fit well, and it was a fun kit. The interior/engine hood hinges area was a little finicky, but worked out ok. The paint is Tamiya light green, interior is Tamiya semi-gloss black. There is a lot of detail painting that I'm not good at so it looks a little sloppy. Someone with better skills than me could make this kit look really nice.

Thanks Carl. Feeling better today, was able to get some done. Almost ready, just need to put on a few decals and I'll call it done.

Thanks EMRE, JC, Bob, and carl. No progress lately, been under the weather this week.

Bob, I've bought a couple of distributors from them, but no engines. The only thing I can tell you is I had no problems and shipping was fast.

Got some body work done. There is a lot of hand detail painting on this kit and with my shaky hands I'm not very good with it. It's looking like a sloppy mess. One thing to watch is the engine hatch needs to go on before the interior is installed, not after. And it's kinda of finicky getting the rear of the interior and hatch hinges to fit right.

Thanks. Thanks. Thanks Carl. I never polish anyway. Thanks Joe. Thanks. Yea, it was a really tight fit.

I made the mistake of wiring and installing the distributor before installing the engine in it's cradle. It's a really tight fit. If I had read on further in the instructions it shows the distributor being installed after the engine is in the cradle. I got it there but not after tearing off a few of my wires. If you build this kit and are planning to install plug wires, best to do it after the engine is in the cradle.

Looking good Bob. That's a great looking color.

Looks great. It is a really nice kit. My wife likes the VW and wanted me to build one a few months ago. She wanted it pink. The kit goes together really nice.

I've looked at the colors in the link above and looked at some photos online. Seeing lots of red, white and yellow. But I saw a couple of light green ones that caught my eye. I have a bottle of Tamiya x-15 light green, I'm going with it. The interior will be either black or some type of brown.

Thanks, lots of nice colors there. Thanks. Thanks Joe.

Thanks all. I've got the engine almost ready. It goes together nicely. Still have not made up my mind on what color I'm going with.

Ok, a little something different for me. Looks like a really nice kit, although there will be a lot of detail painting. Probably some colors I don't have. Have not decided on body and interior colors but I like the box art colors, may just go with those.

Thanks. Thanks David. Thanks. Thank you. It would have looked good in two tone, but I'm not very good at painting a two tone. The wheel backs I painted a metallic silver, but the camera flash washed them out, looks a little better in person, but I think they would have stood out better painted black. Thanks Bob. Thanks.

Calling it done. Thanks for looking and for the comments. -
Did not like this kit. Nothing seemed to fit right. But I knew it was an old kit when I started, didn't expect much. Did the best i could with it. Paint is Tamiya X-4, interior is a combination of X-4 and semi-gloss black. Thanks for looking, all comments welcome.
