Found a couple of Holly 4 barrels for the Hemi. Have not decided on the wheels and tires yet, but this is one option.

I built this about 7 or 8 months ago. It was dropped then kicked and of course a lot of parts fell off. I just threw it back in the box, I never liked the way it came out anyway. So I am going to get out of my comfort zone and do something different with it. I'm in the process of stripping the paint now, I have Z'd the rear of the frame following Ace-Garageguy's tutorial in the tips section. I have also trimmed the spring perch on the front to get the front a little lower. I have three engine choices, the original Ford I first built, a 4.6 Liter from a 97 Mustang GT and a Hemi. Since I like Hemi's that is my first choice. Haven't looked at my wheel and tire choices yet, or what color I'm going with. This is something I'm going to try and work on while doing other builds, so may be a long time project or may end up not finished at all. Right now I'm working on a VW Beetle for my wife.

It's looking great Bob. I really like that gun metal color, fits perfect with the Merc.

Beautiful green. Looks great. Engine looks great also. Is that the kit carb? Nice work.

Hope to get it painted this week. Started on the engine and there are a lot of small engine parts, and seems like each one has 2 or 3 different colors on them.

Thanks Steve. Thanks Bob.

Thanks Steve. Yours looks really nice. I did notice how small some of the parts are, I'll need to take it slow with my bad eyesight and shaky hands. I do plan to wire the distributor and was looking at some images online to see where the heck the spark plugs were.

My wife has always liked the VW beetle. Last week when I went to HL for the 40% off week she ask me to get one and build it for her. I said well I've never seen a beetle kit at HL. But when I got to HL there it was, a 68 VW beetle. They must have just got some in. So here I am about to start the build. I ask her what color she wanted it, she said pink, so I ordered some Tamiya X-17, should be here today. I know nothing about the VW beetle so I'll be winging it. If anyone has built this kit let me know of any problems I need to watch out for. All comments are welcome, and thanks for looking.

Calling it done. Photos under glass.

Thanks. The kit went together well. I built the interior as a unit including the dash outside the body then installed it in the body. That's basically what I did. But I built it as a unit outside the body.

Mostly OOB build. I did change out the wheels and tires, and added plug wires. The stance is a little wider than I wanted, but I'm satisfied with the way it came out. Paint is Testor's Gloss Teal enamel, cleared with Tamiya x-22 acrylic. Interior is Rustoleum bright coat. This is a fun kit, goes together well. I had no real problems except the instructions showed adding the interior panels for the B version onto the frame before adding the body which didn't work for me. I finally got it together by building the entire interior frame including the dash outside the body then installing as one unit into the body. All comments welcome and thanks for looking.

Z'd, ZEED FRAMES SIMPLIFIED TUTORIAL
bluestringer replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I was reading the comments and saw where some thought this would shorten the frame, but it's easy to see that it does not. Looking at the top of the angle cuts and how they line up shows that it is not shortened. The cut portions are only moved up, not moved front or rear. -

Great tutorial. Will this wok on the Revell 29 Model A frame? -
