  1. Thanks Chaz. Thanks Carl.
  2. Looks great. Nice work.
  3. Looking great. Very nice. My favorite year Chevelle. I have the kit in my stash. I'm watching.
  4. I painted mine with a airbrush, first time doing a camo paint job. Came out ok, but needs improvement.
  5. Engine looks good. I'll be watching as I have this kit in my stash and hope to start on it soon. 51 is my birth year and I remember my Dad having this car when I was just a little squirt.
  6. I just built my first plane. It was the Airfix 1/72 scale P-40 Tomahawk. Found out quickly 1/72 is too small. I was gifted an Academy 1/35 AH-1Z Viper helicopter for Christmas, it looks to be a very nice kit. Lots of detail and comes with PE fret parts and even has the mask pieces already cut for the canopy. I also picked up a Revell 1/48 P-51D kit at HL, the P-51 is my favorite also. Next kit I buy will probably be Tamiya as I have heard they are some really great kits.
  7. Engine is about ready, need to wire the plugs, install pulleys and headers. Got some paint on interior parts, Tamiya X-71 Cockpit Green.
  8. Looks like it took some skills, and a lot of patience IMO. I admire you guys that can do that stuff, but I would be out of my comfort zone trying it right now.
  9. Thanks Carl. I appreciate that.
  10. That's cool. That type weathering is beyond my ability.
  11. Thanks Joe. Thank you. Thanks Mike. It was a fun build.
  12. Taking a break from car models I decided to try a military plane. I chose this one because it looked simple and it was cheap. I have since found out that 1/72 scale is too small for me, bad eyes and shaky hands. It came out ok I guess but needs improvement. I need to improve my camo painting. I did try to weather it a little but need to improve that also. The canopy was so small I couldn't mask it and tried just hand painting it, didn't turn out good and I couldn't get it to sit right on the plane. I have a 1/35 Academy AH-!Z Viper helo I got for a christmas gift and also a Revell 1/48 P-51D. I'll decide which one I'll tackle next after I finish a 29 Ford Model A Roadster I'm working on. All comments welcome, and thanks for looking.
  13. Ok, I'm calling it done. Came out ok I guess, needs improvement. I certainly will be moving up in scale. Thanks for all the comments. Putting a couple of photos under glass.
  14. Going with Tamiya X-26 Deep Green.
  15. Thanks Bob, that's what I had in mind.
  16. This will be my first auto build for 2023. Already have 2 on the shelf. Thinking of going with some type of green on this one, maybe a military color.
  17. Looking good Bob. Love the paint.
  18. Went to Hobby Lobby today, I was wanting the Monogram 55 Chevy Street machine and they had it. Then I saw this Revell Mustang P51D ( my favorite old warbird) in 1/48 scale and had to get it also. I guess now I'll be getting cars and aircraft every Hobby Lobby trip.
  19. Thanks Joe. I know what you mean, I'm 71 with bad eyes and shaky hands. I can see now that 1/72 scale is going to be too small for me. That helo is a really nice kit, lots of detail, I think it will be a fun build, even has a PE fret with it. It will probably be the first of Spring before I start on it. I'm still a gear head first and have a few auto kits I want to get built.
  20. Finally got started working on it. Man these parts are small. I got the helo for a christmas gift and it looks to be a really nice kit. And it's a little bigger at 1/35 scale.
  21. Thanks to all for the comments.
