  1. My next victim.........painted Testors Blue Metal Flake enamel. It will be straight OOB build.
  2. Thank you. Thanks Bob. Thanks. Thanks Mike. Thank you David.
  3. I enjoyed this build and think it came out ok. The 6.2L engine is from a 2017 Camaro. Also from the Camaro are the wheels and tires, the exhaust system, the bucket seats and console. The paint is Tamiya XF56 Metallic Grey, with X22 clear. I tried lowering it a little by moving the axles up on the springs, it did not lower it much but I like the way it looks. I had to do some cutting on the Camaro interior to get it to fit, also had to cut some on the firewall for the engine to sit right. The Camaro radiator and other bits fit ok under the hood. I eliminated the rear bumper and made a panel to fit. I was going to install tail lights in the panel but decided I liked the stock lights better. I know the rear view mirror is missing, I'll install it as soon as I find it, or find a replacement. All comments welcome, and thanks for looking.
  4. Calling it done. Photos under glass.
  5. I straighten the clip, then cut around one time in the middle. You can then get your fingernail behind it and pull it off one side then the other.
  6. Coming along slowly. Need to finish up the interior, get the glass in and a few more bits installed.
  7. Got a little shine on it. I'm satisfied with it.
  8. Sounds like it may be scrapbook paper. It comes in many different colors and patterns.
  9. Finally got the metallic grey on the body after messing it up the first time. I'll get some clear on it in a few days.
  10. Only 3 kits at my local Ollies, 35 miles away. I got this one, was not interested in the other 2. I was looking for this one and the 57 Chevy Nomad others had found, but no go on that one.
  11. 71 Petty Dodge driven by Buddy Baker........
  12. Going with Tamiya XF56 metallic grey, I think it will look good once I get the clear on it. I messed up the body so it's in the purple pond, I'll redo it.
  13. My 15 year old craftsman air compressor has been acting up, so ordered a dedicated air brush compressor a few days ago. I was getting tired of that 90 decibel noise anyway. Maybe this one will be a little quieter. UPS delivered it about an hour ago. Brand is PointZero.
  14. Hobby Lobby 40% off..................
  15. Beautiful truck Bob. Nice work.
  16. Thanks Greg. I thought about doing that, but they will be low enough without it.
  17. Made the exhaust extensions with the Evergreen tubing, but didn't like how they looked. So I had to make a trip to the big city today, stopped by HL and picked up some aluminum tubing. I'll try making some from it. Was also going to start painting today but my 15 year old Craftsman air compressor that I use with my air brush is giving me problems. So I decided to order a dedicated air brush compressor, should be here middle of next week.
  18. Thanks. Had not thought of that, yes the tube is too think I will need to thin it down.
  19. If it's this kit, it's hood hinges part 116. https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/6/8/5/155685-37-instructions.pdf
  20. Thanks David. The Camaro exhaust system I'm using has tips with it, but they will be too short. I want them to stick out a little beyond the panel. I don't have any aluminum tubing but I think I can make some from Evergreen plastic tubing. I'll just need to paint them silver or chrome.
