Some of our grocery stores offer stamps at the cash register. Way more convenient than the dreaded post office visit.

Awesome attitude Carl.. Keep the faith strong and enjoy everyday as it arises. I lost my mom 11 1/2 years ago. I'm 63 and I miss my mom everyday. But some day I will see her again. Guaranteed!! I believe you and the misses will do the same with your moms. ?

It all sound so good! You can't beat southern cooking.. Last year my future son-in-law to be smoked a brisket instead of the traditional Turkey. Very tasty..not sure what's on the menu this year. But whatever it is I'm there with my belt loosened and mouth wide open.

I had to look up bisto and hobnobs because I hadn't heard that term before. I guess they were a bit Miffed.. Lol definitely not what they were expecting. If you ever want to try the American gravy for biscuits.. Two tablespoons of bacon or sausage grease heated in a iron skillet with two tablespoons of flour. Mix well and slowly add and stir in two cups of milk until its at the consistency that you prefer. As for the biscuits.. Don't use the hobnobs. ?

Yeah I'd like to know why Pillsbury doesn't make their original biscuits in a can anymore? Instead they come in a bag in the freezer section as TJ stated above. They do not have the exact same taste. I used the canned ones to make gravy and biscuits but the frozen bagged ones are not quite the same. So now I buy the Crescent rolls and reshape them into round biscuits. Taste the same as the original canned ones. We still have leftovers from our Thanksgiving day meal from my daughters dinner and yesterday we had a second but belated Thanksgiving day meal at my Aunts. She had a dish I hadn't had before that was pretty good, cracker gravy.. ? Don't worry Bill that you're out of Turkey and all the goodies that go along, It won't be long and you'll be having it again. That is unless you cook up another meat at Christmas.

Sad that it has become that way. Not with just that topic. Know the truth, stand your grounds and stick to your Morales.

Wow they pretty nice when built. Did you polish the bodies or is that their natural Sheen? and thank you for sharing your builds Dave..

I'm hoping he will take interest at some point. I wasn't aware that the quick builds where like legos until the kit arrived. Hopefully this type of kit will bring more new builders to the hobby.

Recent mailman deliveries. Two for me and the Bugatti for my 13 yr old grandson. I've been hoping he'll catch the model building bug for some time now. Hard to compete with electronics...? he likes cars..lol so there's still hope.

My dad used those stove top percolators for years. I'm not a daily coffee drinker but I agree they have a way better taste. My dad is from the depression area so he trashes nothing. I found at least 8 old percolators in various stages of repairs that didn't work. Believe it or not he still has and uses an original toaster he and mom where given as a wedding present some 60 years ago.. He did repair the cord but he even half assed that.

Since I'm here at IRK alley.. On my list of must haves is an Eldon Bathtub buggy. I built one as a kid and I always liked the car, weird as it is. I found one that was more than I wished to pay but was listed as a make an offer. I messaged the seller in the wee hours after midnight as to my interest and that I was going to make an offer of $xxx when the morning hours arrived. Reason being I use a pre-loaded cards to pay on the site and I had zip on a card to pay. I received a message from the seller that the amount I stated was "nice". My thought was they unofficially approve. After loading the account I was ready to make an official offer. I did so and sent it off. ⌛ the clock ran down and no answer as to an acceptance of the offer. I went back to the posted item and it was relisted cheaper but still above my offer. I know that a seller does not have to accept an offer but to not answer back and let the clock run out than repost it cheaper.. As much as I want this kit and I'm able to cough up the difference in price vs offer which is only $10. Different. It still just gets my britches in a bunch. Do I get the kit? Do I move on and hope for another time? I've got some thinking to do.. ?? As I was ready to submit this post I received a notification that the seller sent me a message.. It appears that this Irk was a mix up on multiple levels. Levels..lol that's an Irk just above.. The seller apparently was having a bad day with the site. My card info wasn't available for them to view to accept my offer and they didn't know how to react. They let the offer time limit run out and reposted the kit meanwhile sent me a message that they did so. ? only they had entered the wrong amount. After a message or two I bought the kit for the amount I originally offered. So it started out as an Irk but ended up not. But since it was a rollercoaster ride with a dose of irritation I'll leave at IRK alley and move on to next kit on my list..

We a few older USA made wooden levels with adjustments and a few newer levels that did not. Our good levels were constantly being dropped or used for purposes they were not intended for. I caught one worker using a 4 footer as a pry bar to lift an 30" stove so he could adjust the feet to raise the height..? we went laser and alleviated the reoccurring cost of replacing levels. I still used a 2 footer to set the pitch/ level of the cabinet with the back wall level line then recheck the front of the cabinet run with the laser. Unfortunately stupid people are plentiful, good workers with experience and good work ethics are not. I don't miss any of it! As for the realtors response..? she is blonde!

Metal shear app.. ? That's a good one but could sadly be true in these times of heighten stupidity. Of course We know better but.. When I was working at the cabinet shop we stumbled on the cell phone level app. We laughed and put it to the test. It was never true but it did have a sobering affect about the majority of levels we used. They did not truly match with each other either. We went to a lazar level after that.

I'm glad to read these comments about overseas purchases of model kits. I have a few kits on my list that I've been VERY hesitant about buying due not knowing about what extra fees may be attached thus making the purchase not worth the money. More importantly is the thought that was mentioned makes me hesitant is the chance of not receiving the merchandise and/or no refund. I had an incident during the beginning of the outbreak of the Wuhan flu where my wife was hell bent on ordering a Mystery box from some online site that sells off unclaimed goods. You were guaranteed your monies worth.. She went and ordered two @ somewhere around $80.00. The payment cleared and soon a tracking # was given. We tracked it for a couple of months and then ? it had vanished... I email the company and they had said it's coming! It never showed up at my house and I was never given or offered a refund or an explanation. When we opened a PayPal case against them it was too late due to the time that had lapsed..? that company got an angry not so nice email and I vowed to never buy from out of the country ever again. So now if there's a kit I want I simply have to hope one shows up on our shores and I get to be the lucky bud who buys it. Not a very good plan. So far I've scored NONE!..?

Congratulations.. Now the fun begins. Enjoy every minute of your new grandbaby!

This is part of the article that went along with that photo. It is a 1:1 car. Like most model kit car builders, of course, Kilmer couldn't help but personalize his version. While he kept what is perhaps the Li'l Coffin's signature feature - the cantilevered roof, supported by the rollbar - and made sure it sat low like the original, he went for a somewhat more conventional upright grille flanked by canted headlamp pods ("I never did like the duckbill," he said) and used a semi-circular steering wheel rather than the dragster yoke. Like Stuckey's version, the Li'l Coffin II gets its power from a 291-cu.in. De Soto Hemi V-8 topped with six Stromberg carburetors, and Kilmer said that it does indeed run and drive. "It's not exactly a daily driver, but it runs beautifully," he said. The Li'l Coffin II debuted in 2004 and has since appeared and taken class wins at both the Detroit Autorama and the Grand National Roadster Show. Kilmer said he's putting it up for auction now both because he feels he's accomplished his goal of returning credit for the Li'l Coffin to Stuckey and because he'd rather not see it deteriorate in his garage. The Li'l Coffin II is scheduled to cross the block with no reserve at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction, scheduled for January 12-19 at Westworld. For more information, visit Barrett-Jackson.com. UPDATE (19.January 2014): The Li'l Coffin II sold for $80,300. UPDATE (28.March 2014): The Li'l Coffin II is now for sale on Hemmings.com with an asking price of $125,000

I agree. I think Barris is a little over rated.. Just my opinion. This is a also a cool version of the li'l coffin with the Ala-Kart front nose and headlight assembly.

20 bones! Dang.. You got that right about the insanity with prices. I went to look at them after seeing your original post. Looks like I'll have to give an arm or leg to obtain one. It is a neat kit but I'm not sold on paying the going prices. I'll wait till the bottom drops out and everyone starts selling their kits in order to survive. ? I saw that story about starburst shop and who is the real designer. I've heard similar stories about the batmoble. Was it Barris or really Tom Daniels?

Gotta love Mr. Bones.. I wish he was available by himself on a larger scale just for the heck of it. As a lover of all things hearse or horror related I like this kit but I don't have one in my stash yet. I've had my had my fair chances at obtaining one but I just couldn't bring myself to spend the dough on the kit. Now I regret those decisions since everything has skyrocketed. Thanks Joe! If you go to scalemates and type in this kit there's a neat little review on the kit and some of the inconsistencies between the kit and the real show car.. http://web.ipmsusa3.org/content/li-l-coffin

Friendly loveable Squirrels..
A modeler named mike replied to A modeler named mike's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
We have a variety of small and large birds that snatch the peanuts also. The little birds fly in and as fast as they land they've got a nut and takes back off in a blink of an eye. We have crows that come and make a bunch of noise I guess to drive the squirrels away so they can feast too and once in awhile I have the bird pictured who also flys in fast and does a snatch and go. He'll fly over to the split rail fence and hold the nut in his beak and thrashes it against the wood till it breaks open. I've never seen any of the other birds actually eat the nuts. -
