Found another gem today while going thru things. Not a car but one is in the photo so it should count. My Dad on my brothers BSA July of 1976. I think it's an early 70's bike? Dad was dressed for a bicentennial event that day. The beetle was bought new. The first few hundred miles was put on while he drove around looking for our lost Chihuahua. He even went through the farm fields in search. We did find the dog after a month of looking. Some boys from a nearby development had found her and claimed her as a pet until one of their neighbors realized it was the lost dog on the reward posters.

Both of your stories brings me to picture John Candy and Dan Aykroyd swatting at the bat flying around in their rental cabin in the Great Outdoors movie.. Since we're a little of topic which is fine by me.. How about have you ever had a Turkey fly right smack in to your house? I couldn't believe it either till I found it's feathers on the ground beneath the gaping hole on the side of my house. The impact was so hard it buckled the interior drywall out on the inside. Now I have to say the house is not built by normal standards. The exterior walls are normal 2×4 construction but it's covered with exterior grade drywall or fireboard than black felt over it with wooden lattice strips than asbestos siding. It was an experimental development project from the 70's. Anyways here's a couple of photos of the damage. BTW I never found the turkey only feathers. -

We have a bird bath that I replenish twice daily plus a small bowl underneath the bird bath for the smaller animals. So you could say my yard is a sanctuary for the wildlife that live in the woods behind us. When I go out the back door the squirrels come running. Never had a problem with them damaging anything. Lucky I guess or they know not to bite the hand that feeds them..IDK. This past July I had the night visitor pictured who I wasn't about to tangle with. I was starting to walk out the door when he was at the water bowl lapping it up, about 4 feet away. I've only seen him that one time...Thankfully... I read that the peanuts smell will draw them. -

Very true.. But this is topic for Friendly loveable Squirrels not the mean nasty destructive ones.. ? just kidding. Maybe we should start a topic for those little devils.. -
I was able to dig up a photo of my dad's 28' Trojan cabin cruiser. It is a wooden hall boat but I'm not sure of the year it was made. The other is a boat my dad had apparently owned before my time. Unfortunately with his mental state now he doesn't remember the boat let alone it being his. UP DATED INFO.. I went back and found more info on the other boat. It is a 17 foot Day cruiser w/ 35 up Johnson motor. Don't know the year.

At my other home we have grey squirrels. The next court over approximately an 1/8 of a mile they have a few black squirrels. They never seem to travel to our side of the community that's connected. Weird.. Same type of tress and landscape. -

I too had the tails poking out the grips. They went with the baseball cards and clothes pin motors smacking the spokes as we peddled our @$$€$ off.. Those were the days. I think your photo sounds pretty funny... -
Nicely done Tony.. I had an older uncle who traveled the roads in a '66 blue and white one. He had a mattress in the back to nap on when he went on long trips. He also had a toilet paper roll mounded to his dash instead of the standard tissue box. He was an eccentric old chap with his own ways.

Very unique build. You nailed it and your driver tops it off.

Not sure my eyes were watering when I searched the site but my tongue was drooling.. Call me a fool ?°° wait..what did my wife say about that? Anyway it is rare and it appears to be in very good condition so in my honest opinion it's worth it. If its on someones must have list it is a no brainer. When will the next one as nice come along? Definitely not priced for a resale. I just laid out a little more for another vintage kit last week. If it was on my list I'd snatch it up. You only live once! ? -

Yeah by no means am I over feeding them. They bury a good % and the birds chime in on the action too. The blue jays will swoop down at the squirrels trying to get the nuts. Then they take it over to the split rail fence and bang the nut on the wood while it's in their beak. Yes very entertaining. Now the woodpeckers we have are not! -

I guess if I had the unfortunate experiences some of you guys have had my view would be somewhat different on the little guys.. But it's not. Until they turn on me they are safe. If they do turn I will unleash a wrath of fury on them. Dad and I will be sporting squirrel skin hats and gloves.. We have a couple of feral cats lurking about too but they seem not to bother the wildlife. Maybe a neighbor is feeding them good? -

You are correct they can become dependent on hand outs. We have a lot of oaks, maples and a variety of pine species that they still fed on along with the peanuts. They also love to eat the berries? on the dogwood trees we have and leftover toast that I'll toss to them after our breakfast. -

Yep.. Same here. I go through 5 ponds of unsalted peanuts a week. I've even noticed the neighboring squirrels across the street are now stopping by for a treat. One of my neighbors told another neighbor they don't know where they're coming from but I have a lot of peanut shells in my yard? Oops.. That would be my guys.. -

?.. Sorry.. I can sense your sarcasm.. I'd be mad too. -
All of what you said is so true Bob. I wish I had more time with my family but they understand and support what I'm doing for my dad. Its just a small inconvenience in life for a man who fought for his country at the age of 18 in Germany and france, battle of the bulge during WW2, who made me, raised me, supported me and taught me good values. Its my turn to return the favor proudly. You could say its my duty and an honor to do so!

Cool... I would have loved to keep rocky as a pet if the law permitted. I will say this. The smell of urine was very strong. Not sure how I would deal with that. Not sure if they can be trained to use a pan or a specific area. Here's a picture I got off the internet that I use as a wallpaper sometimes.
