All of what you said is so true Bob. I wish I had more time with my family but they understand and support what I'm doing for my dad. Its just a small inconvenience in life for a man who fought for his country at the age of 18 in Germany and france, battle of the bulge during WW2, who made me, raised me, supported me and taught me good values. Its my turn to return the favor proudly. You could say its my duty and an honor to do so!

Cool... I would have loved to keep rocky as a pet if the law permitted. I will say this. The smell of urine was very strong. Not sure how I would deal with that. Not sure if they can be trained to use a pan or a specific area. Here's a picture I got off the internet that I use as a wallpaper sometimes. -
This was actually yesterday, but it was a real pleasure. I attended a birthday dinner for one of my grandsons, his 13th birthday. He's a good kid and his whole reasoning behind the choice of where he would pick for his dinner location was based on me and my current situation with being unable to attend many events. I was so proud of his selflessness. Most kids would want some place with video games and fun houses. I was also pleased that my dads younger sister was able to step up and sit with my dad which allowed me to go. We had a good time. I was able to see and intermingle with my 4 grandkids and especially get to spend some time with my wife. Best thing was.. I didn't have to cook nor clean up! Nah that was just an added bonus. It's so nice to be pleased by loving family members.

Wow.. No more vacations or at least invite the squirrels to go along.. I know they can be very destructive. So far we have had no problems. I guess the memo I sent them worked.."I'll fed you if you all behave, if not I've got a big cooking pot" -
Friendly loveable Squirrels..

Cool.. I toss out peanuts all day long to the 6 or 7 that come every morning and throughout the day to feast. We even have a chipmunk coming now. I can stand out amongst them and they come within a foot of me looking up waiting. I have named the ones I can identify. At my house where I usually live.. They jump on the window screens to let you know they are there for food. Thanks for sharing Tony. -
Not sure if there is already a squirrel topic started. I looked but after scrolling through pages and pages I gave up. So if there is one already.. I apologize and it can be moved. I've always been fascinated by these furry little creatures. I know some people would just as well shoot them for fun, food or because they're doing damage to your property. That's all well and good but I prefer to just enjoy their presence. I had a female squirrel at my house that would come and eat a variety of shelled nuts from my hand. It was so fricken cool. She was so gentle and never tried to bite me. Although that was always a concern in the back of my head. This hand feeding went on for about two months. Then she stopped coming. I figured she had been the victim of a predator. Here's a few screenshots from videos of the hand feeding. I also had the privilege of saving a baby squirrel who had fallen out of its neat with 3 other siblings during a bad rain and wind storm. The other 3 babies didn't make it. This little guy was approximately 3 to 4 week old. I nurtured it and raised it till it was about 7 weeks old. I'm my state it is illegal to keep one as a pet. So I contacted an animal rescue facility and handed the little guy over with a donation to help out. It turned out it was a little girl and she was in excellent health due to my care. Than I got the riot act on I shouldn't have done what I did. I should have left it. Blah, blah, blah.. ?°° I did it is it out of love for animals and I'll do it again in a heart beat. If I hadn't than little rocky may have never had a second chance at life. Here's some photos of that little sweet girl squirrel.. Enjoy and let's see what you got..✌?

I Love the old wooden boats. Being a cabinet maker for about 30 years I appreciate wooden anything! Not quite the same as the boats pictured but my dad had a 28' wooden Trojan cabin cruiser with a single screw, 318 Chrysler engine. It had teak wood for the decking. It was a fun boat but man every winter we had to dry dock her inorder to scrap the barnacles and repaint her bottom.. I wish I had pictures to show. If I come across any I'll come back and post them.

Is it just me or are Verizon phone rates way too high?
A modeler named mike replied to Monty's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
My dad has had a Verizon land line for years. His phone would have a crackling sound when you picked up the receiver. It would be worse somedays than others. Forget hearing any message left on the answering machine. Plus the majority of incoming calls were of a soliciting nature. I would call Verizon, they would send out a repair man and it be ok for sometime but it would always reoccur. I got tired of the constant BS if them not wanting to fix the problem instead of half @$$ing it! So I cancelled them. I had to laugh after I had gotten off the phone from canceling their service in which I did not hold back on voicing my opinion of them during the cancellation process. They sent me a "How did we do survey" oh I answered it and I was as honest as I could be..? -
Dealing with the suffering from Dementia
A modeler named mike replied to NYLIBUD's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Glad I found this. This has been my life for just a little over a year. My dad is a widower of 11 yrs. and lives alone at 98 yrs old up until last October. He had two back to back falls which sent him to the ER where he was diagnosed with an early stage of dementia. I retired early and pulled up stakes at my house and my life to become my dad's 24/7 caregiver. In the beginning of our adventure (as I like to refer to it) dad was forgetful, confused at times, got lost easily, appetite cut in half, he slept way more than normal and carried out his dreams as he would awaken.. He would slowly come to realize it was a dream but it was so real to him. I used to keep a diary of these occurrences but that became to daunting of a task itself. Fast forward to September of this year when Dad and I caught Covid. One day he had passed out on me at the breakfast table. 911 once again. Along with having Covid he had become dehydrated. That is a problem in itself. He is incontinent and doesn't like to drink much liquid. 2 days later they sent him home. Since then I have seem a rapid deterioration in him. He now lives to sleep! He needs help using the potty, bathing, needs to be told to brush his teeth, wash his hands and basic things we do with little thought. As for sleeping at night.. What's that? We get up every two to three hours to go pee tiny amounts of urine..? but during the day time he needs to be told to go potty. It by NO means is an easy job and has little to no rewarding words from your loved one you care for but you do it out of love and respect. I feel and pray for all here that has or is dealing with this with a loved one. AaronW has some very good advice in his post above. Thanks -
Here's three pencil drawings I did long ago when I was into model railroading. They are my renditions of photos. The others are from a digital art program that I stumbled on. Those are all originals and not templates or overlays. Its a neat concept and kinda fun but I still prefer the old ways.. Thanks..✌?

A lot of good songs being spit out.. This one is not so spooky but it's a party song. -
Dang! I wish we had an Ollies in my town. We have a big lots that has models occasional but they're priced just as high as elsewhere selling them. Heck my walmart is even cheaper. After posting my last batch of kits my good old mail man dropped these two off to me.? I be smiling big time today!! After this last kit I may have to take a break from buying ?°° although I did see this one I don't have yet.. ?

The weeks newly acquired kits. I've always liked Speeds Mach 1 even though it's a simplistic kit. The Borsch kit was ridiculously cheap and the seller offered even more of a discount, the '61 Cougar kit was also a cheap kit due to the nature of the box condition, crushed and ripped badly but I was able to bring new live to the cardboard mess. You can see my efforts in the "what pleased me today" The '61 Galaxie kit was because my dad had one when they rolled out of the factory. He had traded in his two tone Black and white '55 Ford vic for it. My mother was furious but when he went back the next day to undo the deal his '55 was already sold. He never forgave himself neither did my Mom.. The other photo is of the 1940's Hanson cab kit I bought with the possible intentions of a crazy Tom Daniels type dragster? But after getting the kit the plastic pieces of the main assembly are wrapped. My thought is all new sheet styrene to duplicate those parts when I get to this future project. ?

?.. I'm sure there's plenty more stories. It's surprising how many people may be just a little apprehensive to tell their story due to judgement. I say let them judge! I know what I heard and there was no logical explanation and I'm ok with that. Not everything can be explained way.

Thanks Carl.. I never had this kit as a kid and I was only 6 years old when it was issued. I've always wanted one. This would be a super kit for someone to resurrect from the grave.. So to speak.. It would be flying off the stores shelves as fast as they could make them.

I never understood the non-payer bit. Why bid in the first place? Maybe its the hype? Who knows? I only make offers to those sellers who offer it. Even though I like the feature and use it frequently I wouldn't offer it either if I were a seller. So I can understand your stance on the situation. ?.. ☝? Mr. G. since I have your ear, an NNL East question. Above I stated a laundry dilemma involving a NNL East show shirt..? So what happens to leftover show tee-shirts if they're not sold? Like that's possible.. Lol.

Thanks for the tip.. I didn't know of this rit product but I've used their dyes before. I'll put it on my shopping list and give it a try. If it happens to work I'll owe ya.

I go through PayPal also. I just use the eBay gift cards instead of my bank card. The one thing I did notice when I used this predetermined payment method the few times I did my offers were accepted without a counter offer. Mind you the kits were not for much money and not in pristine condition or complete. This last kit was different circumstances..it was high on my list, it's rarely available and it was my time! ? so even though I'm not particularly excited about this way of making an offer I'll still use it now and then as long as its to my advantage to score something I need, want ?°° can't live without! ?

It went straight from the first wash back in the washer alone and with a batch of water and bleach mixture to soak then wash. I did that twice in a row. It all came out except for around the arm pit area..? it didn't show signs of deodorant stain prior to washing..?

Not sure if its my device but I couldn't view your image..??

Today I'm on cloud nine and I ain't coming down for some time.. After all the irks and restless couple of hours of waiting I have scored one of my all time desired kits. The Jo-han Haulin Hearse FC. So many times before I have been either out bid or simply the wrong timing financially, Not today brother! ?
