  1. Sunday's Irk.. Day light savings! The only perk is you can say you where able to time travel. I'd like to string up the umbilical who initiated the idea.
  2. I like the old jeepsters look too but those can be pricey for a nice complete kit. The AMT /stevenshobbies.com Mount 'N Goat Jeep Commando has the flat hood instead of the hump hood. That's what I ended up with for now.
  3. Not sure it all works but since your dad and sis have abilities you may too. You just never taped into it?
  4. In the spirit of Ghosts... Now that Halloween is over and our next Holiday nears, doesn't mean that the ghost are on vacation and they are not still here. Quite the contrary as time will tell when more visiting contributors speak of things they've seen, heard or smelled. So whip out your cameras and snap away then go back to look at what you may have captured today.. ?
  5. Nice find. I've been eyeing up that one, the flying bridge cruiser moulded in ugly swirly brown and the '59 Owens kit since the "Old Wooden Boats"? topic came about. Reminds of of the SS Minnow.
  6. I am a one of those who habitually locks the door behind them out of habit. It can be maddening when I unintentionally lock it and not have the keys in my possession. So I have a spare key hidden for emergencies. When I moved into my dads house to care for him I knew he had a spare key hidden outside. I asked where it was? He told me where and I went to retrieve it so I could make sure it was the correct key and it worked incase of an emergency. My dad is and always has been the type of individual who over does everything. The key was wrapped in duct tape than put into a glass jar. The lid was sealed with duct tap then he wrapped it all in plastic which he wrapped with more duct tape. It told me literally 45 minutes to unwrap it all. Not sure how it would have all went if it was an actual emergency.
  7. That's a great idea. I've always thought the same but never acted on it. Definitely post some photos if you go through with the transformation.
  8. Now that's an intriguing photo. When I l?k At the photo my mind sees two different images. first was a face. But as I looked longer I started to see a small child being held by someone in a cradled seat position? It's cool evidence.
  9. Hey Bob.. I'm sure they know you're there. They are pretty aware of their surroundings. They apparently do not see you as a threat. It may be because they associate you with the food. As for hand feeding, in my little experiences of hand feeding I use unshelled nuts and a variety helps. That way they can eat without stopping to crack open the nuts. I used walnuts and pecans. Everyone kept telling me I'm nuts for hand feeding them but I never felt like I was in harm's way. They are more frightened or cautious of us than we are of them and I think they would probably flee the area instead of bitting. Have fun with it, its a very rewarding feeling when one sits and feast out of your hand. Get pictures if you can..
  10. Your 4th picture down, the 70? Ranchero has me drooling. Nice batch!
  11. Found another gem today while going thru things. Not a car but one is in the photo so it should count. My Dad on my brothers BSA July of 1976. I think it's an early 70's bike? Dad was dressed for a bicentennial event that day. The beetle was bought new. The first few hundred miles was put on while he drove around looking for our lost Chihuahua. He even went through the farm fields in search. We did find the dog after a month of looking. Some boys from a nearby development had found her and claimed her as a pet until one of their neighbors realized it was the lost dog on the reward posters.
  12. Both of your stories brings me to picture John Candy and Dan Aykroyd swatting at the bat flying around in their rental cabin in the Great Outdoors movie.. Since we're a little of topic which is fine by me.. How about have you ever had a Turkey fly right smack in to your house? I couldn't believe it either till I found it's feathers on the ground beneath the gaping hole on the side of my house. The impact was so hard it buckled the interior drywall out on the inside. Now I have to say the house is not built by normal standards. The exterior walls are normal 2×4 construction but it's covered with exterior grade drywall or fireboard than black felt over it with wooden lattice strips than asbestos siding. It was an experimental development project from the 70's. Anyways here's a couple of photos of the damage. BTW I never found the turkey only feathers.
  13. We have a bird bath that I replenish twice daily plus a small bowl underneath the bird bath for the smaller animals. So you could say my yard is a sanctuary for the wildlife that live in the woods behind us. When I go out the back door the squirrels come running. Never had a problem with them damaging anything. Lucky I guess or they know not to bite the hand that feeds them..IDK. This past July I had the night visitor pictured who I wasn't about to tangle with. I was starting to walk out the door when he was at the water bowl lapping it up, about 4 feet away. I've only seen him that one time...Thankfully... I read that the peanuts smell will draw them.
  14. Very true.. But this is topic for Friendly loveable Squirrels not the mean nasty destructive ones.. ? just kidding. Maybe we should start a topic for those little devils..
  15. I was able to dig up a photo of my dad's 28' Trojan cabin cruiser. It is a wooden hall boat but I'm not sure of the year it was made. The other is a boat my dad had apparently owned before my time. Unfortunately with his mental state now he doesn't remember the boat let alone it being his. UP DATED INFO.. I went back and found more info on the other boat. It is a 17 foot Day cruiser w/ 35 up Johnson motor. Don't know the year.
  16. So you are having problems navigating to topics? I get to a topic and I can't seem to get to the othe pages in a topic when I enter..not all the time but enough to be a "IRK"..? Don't worry Tony, your package will come. ?°°sometime!
  17. You are correct Dave.. Thank you for pointing that out. I was going through so many photos I guess I got mixed up.. Thanks I'll fix it..

A few Ford explorers and a Ford Ranger step side he bought new. We always said he should have been a car salesman. He also was a boat lover and a owner of a few. Thanks for looking and enjoy.. I know he did.
  19. Nice photos of your family cars Dan and the rest who posted. My dad had more cars than the years him and mom were married. They were hitched for 50 yrs. He was always trading in for a newer model or buying something that caught his eye. Here's a few of the many, not in any particular order. I'll have to dig up more when I have more time. My dads uncles old Ford. Dad's '31 Chevy roadster Dad's '41 Nash Dad's '50 Nash and my granddads '50 Ford Convertible
  20. At my other home we have grey squirrels. The next court over approximately an 1/8 of a mile they have a few black squirrels. They never seem to travel to our side of the community that's connected. Weird.. Same type of tress and landscape.
  21. I too had the tails poking out the grips. They went with the baseball cards and clothes pin motors smacking the spokes as we peddled our @$$€$ off.. Those were the days. I think your photo sounds pretty funny...
  22. Nicely done Tony.. I had an older uncle who traveled the roads in a '66 blue and white one. He had a mattress in the back to nap on when he went on long trips. He also had a toilet paper roll mounded to his dash instead of the standard tissue box. He was an eccentric old chap with his own ways.
  23. Very unique build. You nailed it and your driver tops it off.
